The State University of New York Athletic Conference
(SUNYAC) has announced its Women's soccer Player of the
Week for the week ending October 21, 2001. SUNY
Plattsburgh senior Leah Puckett
(Williamsville/Williamsville South) is the women's
winner after leading her team to a pair of victories last
week. She scored a goal and had an assist in a 6-1 win
over Potsdam and collected three goals and two assists in
a 9-0 win over Lyndon State. Puckett has 10 goals and six
assists on the season for the 9-7-1 (5-4-1 SUNYAC)
Cardinals. Puckett's 10 goals ties her for sixth all-time
at Plattsburgh State University in a single season. For
her career, Puckett has tallied 75 points (second
all-time for team), 29 goals (third) and 17 assists
(fourth).

Conference (SUNYAC) has announced its women's soccer
Player of the Week for the week ending October 14, 2001.
SUNY New Paltz freshman forward Lauren Martone
(Hastings-on-Hudson/Hastings) is the women's winner
after leading her team to a pair of victories last week.
She scored two goals in a 3-2 win over conference
opponent Utica/Rome and added two goals in a 3-2 victory
over Russell Sage. Martone has six goals on the season
for the Hawks, who are 7-9 overall and 3-6 in conference
play.

Conference (SUNYAC) has announed Lori Taub
(Commack/Commack) as the
women's soccer Player of the Week for the week ending
October 7, 2001. The SUNY Plattsburgh sophomore
led her team to a pair of conference victories. The
forward scored the teams lone goal in a 1-0 victory over
Fredonia and the game-tying goal in a 2-1 victory over
Buffalo State for the team's fourth win in five games.
She has four goals and two assists this season for the
Cardinals. Plattsburgh is 7-5-1 overall and 4-2-1 in
SUNYAC play.

Conference (SUNYAC has announced its women's soccer
Player of the Week for the week ending September 30,
2001. SUNY Potsdam freshman forward
Jodi Ziemba (Russell, NY/Edward Knox) is the
winner after registering an impressive 23 points (10
goals, three assists) in three victories. She scored four
goals in Potsdam's 5-1 conference win versus Utica/Rome,
tallied three goals and three assists in an 11-1 win over
Cazenovia and finished the week with three goals in a
12-2 victory versus Castleton St. (Vt.). Ziemba has 15
goals and four assists this fall for the 4-7 Bears.

Conference (SUNYAC) has
announced its women's soccer player of the week for the
week ending September 23,
2001. Oneonta's State Amy
DuCharme (Burnt Hills,NY/Burnt Hills), a senior
midfielder, scored two goals in a
2-0 win against Utica/Rome, had two assists in a 4-0 win over Geneseo, and
also two goals in a 3-0 win over Brockport. For the season she has four
goals and four assists. Oneonta has won 30 striaght games in the SUNYAC.

Brockport's Stephanie Rosenhahn (Buffalo, NY/Kenmore
East) and Geneseo's Kris Tenalio (Geneseo,
NY/Livonia) share the honor. Tenalio, a senior
midfielder, scored one goal in a 2-0 win over Buffalo
State, and had one goal and one assist in a 4-1 win over
Fredonia. For the season she has scored five goals and
has three assists for 13 points. Rosenhahn, a sophomore midfielder, scored
one goal in a 2-0 win at Hamilton. Against conference
opponents this week she had one goal in a 2-1 win against
Fredonia, and one goal and one assist in a 3-0 win over
Buffalo State. She has eight points for the season, and
has led Brockport to 5-1 on the season with five straight
wins.
September 10, 2001
Mary Maslanka (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili)
of Brockport was selected as SUNYAC Women's Soccer Player
of the Week. Maslanka turned in a stellar effort in an
upset win by the Golden Eagles. Maslanka stopped 16 shots
as Brockport improved its record to 2-1 with a 2-0
shutout of nationally seventh-ranked Nazareth College
last Friday. She has recorded 24 saves and a 0.97 goals
against average in three games this season.
