Mary Velan (Stamford/Stamford), Oneonta senior forward/midfielder

Velan scored the game-tying goal in the SUNYAC championship game as Oneonta rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit to defeat Cortland, 3-1. She was named SUNYAC Tournament MVP.

October 29
Ashley Pople (Red Creek/Red Creek), Oswego senior defender
Pople led the Lakers to 1-0-1 week, helping the Lakers keep a clean sheet at Clarkson in a non-league 1-0 win on Wednesday and then following with a second-half game-tying goal against Scranton on Saturday in a 1-1 tie.

October 22
Dayna Moneta (Franklin Square/Valley Stream), Cortland freshman goalkeeper
Moneta posted two shutouts on the week as the Red Dragons clinched the second seed in the upcoming SUNYAC Tournament. She made three saves in the 2-0 win over Oswego and then followed with a career-best 12 saves in a 0-0 double-overtime tie versus 20th-ranked Oneonta. Moneta has recorded four shutouts on the season. She has a 6-2-1 record with 39 saves and a .848 save percentage.

October 15
Becky Scroger (Spencerport/Spencerport), Fredonia junior goalkeeper
Scroger helped lead Fredonia to a 0-0 tie with Plattsburgh on Oct. 12 and a 5-0 victory over Potsdam on Oct. 13. The goalkeeper recorded her fifth and sixth shutouts of the season, setting a career record of 19 as a Blue Devil. Scroger has posted a 0.66 goals against average and an 86.8 save percentage on the season.

October 8
Helen Giroux (Chazy, NY/Chazy), Plattsburgh freshman forward

Giroux tallied all four goals in the Cardinals' 4-0 win over nationally-ranked Oneonta on Oct. 6. The win snapped the Red Dragons' 101-game unbeaten streak in conference play, an NCAA record among all divisions. Her four goals tied a single-game record for most goals in a game at Plattsburgh.Giroux also scored the game-winning goal in Plattsburgh's 2-0 victory over New Paltz on Oct. 5.

Mary Velan (Stamford, NY/Stamford), Oneonta senior forward
Velan led the Red Dragons to a 3-0 week, setting three career record marks along the way. On Sept. 25, she scored two goals in a 4-0 victory over Ithaca and broke the Oneonta State career point record of 137. On Sept. 28, she had a pair of goals in a 4-2 win over Brockport to break the career goal record of 59, and then on Sept. 29, she recorded a goal and an assist in the 4-1 victory over Geneseo to break the Oneonta career assist record.

September 24
Kirsten Clapper (Dryden, NY/Dryden), Oneonta senior forward

Clapper recorded four goals over the weekend as the Red Dragons went 2-0. She scored two goals in a 9-0 win over Buffalo State and followed up with two more in a 5-0 victory over Fredonia. Clapper now has eight goals on the season for the Red Dragons.

September 17
Lacey Malbeuf (Harrisville, NY/Harrisville), Potsdam junior forward

Leading the Bears to a 2-0 week, Malbeuf recorded three goals and two assists in a 7-0 shutout victory over Paul Smith's. She followed with an assist in a 5-0 win against Morrisville as Potsdam improved to 5-1. Malbeuf has six goals and nine assists on the season, leading the team with 21 points.

September 10
Elizabeth Radigan (Troy, NY/Troy), Plattsburgh freshman forward

Radigan was selected as the Cardinal Classic's Most Offensive Player, scoring three goals and tallying an assist to help Plattsburgh State clinch the 2007 Cardinal Classic Championship. The Cardinals defeated both St. Lawrence University and Smith College by 3-1 scores. Radigan has six goals and one assist on the season, leading the team with 13 points.

September 3
Jill Neidlinger (Burt, NY/Newfane), Brockport senior midfielder

Neidlinger led the Golden Eagles to a 2-0 week as Brockport claimed the Marietta College Classic. She scored a goal and had three assists on her way to earning tournament MVP honors as the Golden Eagles defeated Juniata College 1-0 in the first round and shut out host Marietta College 3-0 in the championship game.
