Fredonia sophomore forward, Mimi Blackman (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford-Mendon)
has been selected as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC)
Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 29. Blackman scored
the loan goal in the 1-0 victory over RIT. With the win the Devils claimed their
tenth win for the second consecutive year.

Oneonta junior, Mary Velan (Stamford, NY/Stamford) has been selected
as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Soccer
Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 21. Velen led Oneonta to a 2-0
week with a 2-0 win against New Paltz and a 2-1
overtime win over Messiah.
She scored one goal in each contest including the game winner against top-ranked
Messiah in overtime. The Red Dragons have won 17 straight games.

Cortland first year forward Mallory Morris (Elizabethtown, NY/Elizabethtown-Lewis)
has been selected as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC)
Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 15. Mallory scored
her first career goals in back to back wins over the weekend. She netted an insurance
goal in the 3-0 win over Potsdam and tallied the game winner in the 1-0 victory
against Plattsburgh. With the two wins, the Red Dragons clinched a conference
playoff spot.

Cortland
junior forward Mandy Womelsdorf (Buffalo, NY/West Seneca West) has been selected
as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Soccer
Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 8. Womelsdorf led the Red Dragons
to two conference wins against Buffalo State and Fredonia. She scored two goals
and assisted on another in the 5-0 win over Buffalo State. Womelsdorf scored the
game winning goal 8:17 into the first overtime for the 1-0 victory against Fredonia.
Womelsdorf leads Cortland this season with six goals and 13 points.

Brockport freshman forward Nicole Gibaud has been selected as the State
University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Soccer Athlete of
the Week for the week ending October 1. Gibaud led the Golden Eagles to two conference
wins against Oswego and Cortland. She scored one goal in the 5-1 win over Oswego.Gibaud
tallied two goals, just 39 seconds apart to tie the score at 2-2 vs. Cortland,
and then assisted on the winning goal with 36 seconds to go in regulation for
the 3-2 victory. She leads the Brockport team with 5 goals on the year.

New Paltz senior, Kerri Kelty (Valley Stream) has been selected as the
State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Soccer Athlete
of the Week for the week ending September 24. Kelty led the Hawks to a 2-0 conference
weekend with wins against Oswego and Cortland. She tallied two goals, two assists
in the 4-0 win over Oswego on Friday. With nine minutes left in regulation against
Cortland, Kelty tied the game on an unassisted goal to force overtime, where the
Hawks won 2-1. It was the first ever win for New Paltz against Cortland in 23
tries.

Buffalo
State junior, Katie Melsert (Burnt Hills) has been selected as the State University
of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week for
the week ending September 17. Melsert posted her third consecutive shutout in
nets as she helped lead the Bengals to a 2-0 opening weekend of SUNYAC contests
against Potsdam and Plattsburgh. Melsert made seven saves in the 2-0 victory against
Plattsburgh. This was the first-ever win over Plattsburgh in the Bengals women's
soccer program. Melsert's shutout streak extends to 329:26 minutes.

Oneonta junior, Mary Velan (Stamford) has been selected as the State
University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Soccer Athlete of
the Week for the week ending September 10. Velen scored four goals and one assist
over the weekend in helping the Red Dragons win the 2006 Mayors Cup. Velan netted
one goal in the 4-0 win over Catholic and then went on to net a hat trick and
one assist in the 4-0 victory against Clark. She was named the 2006 Mayors Cup
Offensive MVP.

Brockport
senior Laura Sawyer (Chittenango/Kirkville) has been selected as the State University
of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week for
the week ending September 3. Sawyer led the Golden Eagles to two wins over the
weekend to start the 2006
campaign. She set a school record with four assists
in the 4-1 win over Mt. Union before helping her team to a 1-0 victory against
Marietta. Sawyer was named the Marietta Tournament MVP and is now one of the top
10 career points leaders at SUNY Brockport with 41 points.
