Oswego forward Maureen Kasperek (Fulton, NY/G. Ray Bodley)
receives her first Player of the Week award after registering
a hat-trick in a 4-4 tie against regionally-ranked St. Lawrence. This
year, the sophomore broke the Oswego record for goals in a season
and tied the SUNYAC record for goals in a season (13). She is also
in the top 25 in goals per game and points per game in the latest
NCAA statistical report.

Geneseo senior forward Logan Hadzicki (Portville/Portville)
receives the women's honor for her 12-point performance in the Knights'
2-0 week. Wednesday, Hadzicki registered a goal and an assist in a
2-0 win over Brockport ensuring her team a first-round bye into the
SUNYAC semifinals. Saturday, she scored four goals and assisted on
another in the Knights' 5-1 win over St. John Fisher, setting new
school records for career points (111) and points in a game (9). She
also tied the school records for career goals (44) and goals in a
game (4). Geneseo is currently 12-2-4 overall and ranked 6th in New
York State.

Brockport junior forward Leanne Gedraitis (West Falls, NY/Holland)
earns the women's honor for the third time this year leading her
team to two conference wins this weekend. Gedraitis registered two
goals and two assists in a 7-0 win over Potsdam and added a goal and
an assist in a 3-1 victory over Plattsburgh. Her assist on Nikki Sanchez's
goal in the second half against Plattsburgh broke the SUNYAC record
for most points in a season (29) held by Oneonta's Liz McGrail (2000).
Gedraitis then scored Brockport's third goal of the game, tying the
SUNYAC record for goals scored in a season (13) held by McGrail (2000)
and Potsdam's Jodi Ziemba (2001). With the goal, she also broke the
Brockport single-season points record of 40 held by Becky Thomas (1983).
Gedraitis now has 41 points (17g, 7a) overall and 32 points (13g,
6a) in nine SUNYAC games for the 10-4-1 Golden Eagles.

Cardinal sophomore forward Gena Rosenbaum (Morrisonville, NY/Seton
Catholic) earned the SUNYAC Women's Player of the Week award registering
three goals and two assists in two conference wins this weekend. Saturday,
Rosenbaum broke three Plattsburgh State records with three goals and
an assist in a 5-1 win over Fredonia. In the first half, she broke
the school single-season record for assists, tallying her 11th of
the season. She then broke the school single-season points record
on her first goal of the game and broke the school record for most
goals in a season with her third goal of the game late in the second-half.
Rosenbaum leads Plattsburgh (12-2) and the conference in scoring with
45 points (17g, 11a).
October 6, 2003
Oneonta junior forward Brooke Davis (Grand Gorge, NY/Stamford)
has been selected as the State University of New York Athletic
Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Soccer Player of the Week for the week
ending Oct. 5. Davis registered three goals and an assist in
two games this past weekend. In a 6-1 win over Buffalo State
on Friday, Davis scored Oneonta's first goal 30 minutes into the game
and tallied the eventual game-winner with 15 minutes gone in the second
half. Saturday, against Fredonia, Davis assisted on the game-winning
goal and added the Red Dragons' fourth goal of the game in a 4-0 win.
Oneonta is now 10-0-2 overall, 6-0-1 in the SUNYAC and has a 55-game
unbeaten streak

Brockport junior forward Leanne Gedraitis (West Falls/Holland
H.S.) earned the women's honor for the second week in a row tallying
six goals and two assists on the week. Gedraitis recorded a hat-trick
against St. John Fisher earlier in the week and registered eight points
(3g, 2a) against New Paltz on Saturday. In the last five games, she
has scored 11 goals and assisted on three others. Saturday, Gedraitis
scored her 43rd career goal, breaking the Brockport all-time mark
set by Nikki VanDenberghe (1992-95). She is currently second all-time
with 93 career points and needs only eight more points to break the
record.
September 22, 2003
Brockport junior forward Leanne Gedraitis (West Falls/Holland
H.S.) earned SUNYAC Player of the Week honors for the week ending
September 21. Gedraitis tallied five goals and an assist in a pair
of SUNYAC wins over the weekend. She registered a hat-trick and an
assist in a 6-1 win over Fredonia and had two goals in a 6-0 win over
Buffalo State. She moved into a second place on Brockport's all-time
career scoring list with 80 points (36g, 8a) and is the only player
with 35 or more career goals.

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC)
has announced Plattsburgh's Maria Coloccia (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa)
as the women's soccer Player of the Week for the week ending September
14. Coloccia notched two goals and two assists this past weekend in
Plattsburgh's Cardinal Classic. Coloccia assisted on two goals in
the Cardinals' opening round 8-0 win over St. John Fisher on Saturday.
In the championship game, she tallied the tying and game-winning goals
back-to-back just five minutes apart in a 7-2 win over Mount Holyoke
and was named the tournament's Offensive Most Valuable Player. Coloccia
has scored four goals and assisted on three others this season for
the 5-1 Cardinals.

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC)
has announced
Oneonta's Sanada Mujanovic (Centereach/Centereach) as the Women's
Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending September 7. Mujanovic,
a senior midfielder, was selected as the most outstanding offensive
player of the 2003 Mayor's Cup Tournament. She scored one goal and
added three assists in victories over Eastern Connecticut State and
Smith as she led the Red Dragons to their second-straight tournament
title.
