CORTLAND, N.Y. - After falling behind 1-0, the Cortland Red
Dragons rallied for nine consecutive goals to pull away from Geneseo and claim
their sixth straight conference title with a 16-7 win. With the victory, the
Red Dragons also earn an automatic berth in the upcoming NCAA Tournament.
Freshman Jennifer Willis (Huntington/Walt Whitman) led the way for Cortland
scoring four goals and setting up two others. All-Tournament selection Kerri
Finn (West Islip/West Islip) contributed four goals on the afternoon and sophomore
Jessie Lynch (West Islip/West Islip) added three goals and an assist. Red
Dragon goalkeeper Regina Grosso (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) made five saves
for the victors and senior midfielder Sara Gorman (Lindenhurst/Lindenhurst)
was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
