April 29, 2002 Senior Brooke VandeWalker (North Syracuse/Cicero-North Syracuse) has been named the SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for April 22-28. VandeWalker scored 11 goals and handed out five assists in leading
the Red Dragons to the conference championship with wins over Oswego
and Geneseo. VandeWalker set a new SUNYAC tournament single game record
with 10 points in the championship game win over Geneseo and scored
three goals, three assists in a non-conference game with William Smith. April 22, 2002 SUNY Cortland's Brooke VandeWalker (North Syracuse/Cicero-North
Syracuse) has been named the SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Player of
the Week for April Included in the week were SUNYAC wins over Oneonta and
Oswego, which clinched first place and the right to host this weekend's
SUNYAC championships. April 15, 2002 Cortland senior Jeanna Angotti (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W.
Baker) was named the SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week
for the week of April 8-14. Angotti led the Red Dragons to three conference
wins on the week by scoring 10 goals and adding three assists. She
recently became the fifth Cortland player to surpass 200 career points
and is just five away from becoming the career leader in goals scored. April 8, 2002 Geneseo's Betsy Meldrim (Cortland/Cortland) was named the SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for the week ending April 7. The sophomore attack scored 15 goals and handed out 11 assists in
leading the Knights to a 4-0 record last week, including three wins
over SUNYAC opponents. Meldrim leads the 4-1 Knights in scoring with
19 goals, 12 assists for 31 points in five games. April 1, 2002 Cortland's Trish Kesicki (Dix Hills, NY/Half Hollow Hills East) has been named the SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for March 25-31. The senior goalie stopped 12 of 14 shots in the Red Dragons 11-2 win over Hamilton for an 85.6 save percentage for the nation's fifth ranked team.
