Winning the women's Player of the Week honor is New Paltz's Sonya Mkoloma (London, England/Burlington Danes).

Mkoloma, a 6'1” junior, has been a steady performer all season for the New Paltz Hawks. Friday night against Potsdam she matched the NCAA (all divisions) season-best total of 10 blocked shots, to become one of just three Division III players to achieve that feat. Amazingly, this is Mkoloma's first season of basketball, though she played a similar sport, netball, extensively in her native England. New Paltz finished the regular season with a 9-11 SUNYAC record to earn the seventh seed in the SUNYAC Tournament. They face off against second seed Cortland Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.

Winning the women's Player of the Week honor is Oneonta's Patti Schroh (Ossining, NY/Ossining).

The 5'11” senior forward averaged 15.5 points, 13.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per-game for the Red Dragons. Oneonta was ranked 17th by D3 Hoops in polls released last Tuesday. With only three conference games remaining before the SUNYAC Tournament, Oneonta must win all three in order to have a chance at the number one seed.

Oneonta tied a school record with 16 consecutive wins after last weeks wins over Cortland (76-64), Fredonia (64-56), and Buffalo St. (66-56).
