SUNY New Paltz senior middle hitter Christina Mazurowski (Tonawanda,
NY/Kenmore East) has been named the State University of New York
Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Volleyball Player of the
Week for the week ending Oct. 30. Mazurowski averaged 3.3 kills
and 1.1 blocks per game and had a .359 attack percentge in a 3-2
week for the Hawks. She also recorded 21 digs and 11 aces in 16
games. Mazurowski opened the week with 16 kills, five aces and
five blocks in a
3-1 win over New Jersey City University. She then helped New Paltz
finish fourth out of 12 teams at the New York State Women's Collegiate
Athletic Association (NYSWCAA) Championship in Ithaca. She posted
14 kills and four blocks in a first-round win over Potsdam, then
totaled nine kills and four digs as the sixth-seeded Hawks upset
third-seeded RIT, 3-0, in the quarterfinals. Mazurowski also amassed
eight kills, six blocks and six digs in a semifinal loss to Ithaca.
For her efforts, Mazurowski was named to the NYSWCAA All-Tournament
Team. Prior to the tournament, she was announced as a first team
all-state selection for the season. Mazurowski is the SUNYAC Player
of the Week for the second time this fall. She also won the award
in late September.

SUNY Cortland senior setter Lizz Rakita (Lake Grove, NY/Sachem)
has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference
(SUNYAC) Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending
Oct. 23.Rakita averaged 11.5 assists per game and had a .390 hitting
percentage as Cortland posted a 5-0 record at the SUNYAC East
Round Robin in Potsdam. She recorded 40 assists, five kills, three
aces and four blocks in a 3-0 win over New Paltz and had 34 assists,
five digs and four kills in a 3-0 win versus Potsdam. Cortland
won its 20th SUNYAC Eastern Division title in the last 21 years
with a 9-1 league record. The Red Dragons, 26-6 overall, will
host the six-team SUNYAC Championship Tournament Nov. 4-5.

SUNY Brockport sophomore setter Kaylen Fessette (Plattsburgh,
NY/Beekmantown) has been named the State University of New York
Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Volleyball Player of the
Week for the week ending Oct. 16. Fessette averaged 12.9 assists
and 2.2 digs per game as Brockport finished with a 3-1 record
at the Liberty League/SUNYAC Challenge at Skidmore. An all-tournament
team selection, she totaled 51 assists, 10 digs and four kills
in a 3-0 win over Clarkson and had 39 assists and six digs in
a 3-0 victory versus Union. She concluded the tournament with
44 assists and 11 digs in a 3-1 setback to Skidmore. Fessette
averages 9.8 assists and 2.7 digs per game this season for the
Golden Eagles.

SUNY Fredonia sophomore outside hitter JaHanna Dixon (Hamburg,
NY/Frontier) has been named the State University of New York Athletic
Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for
the week ending Oct. 9. JaHanna was named Most Valuable Player
at the Union College Invitational as she led the Blue Devils to
a 4-0 record and the tournament title. She registered "double-doubles"
in three matches, finishing with 14 kills and 10 digs in a 3-0
win over New Paltz, 18 kills and 12 digs in a 3-1 victory against
Union and 15 kills and a career-high 21 digs in a 3-2 triumph
over Skidmore. In five matches during the week, Dixon averaged
3.3 kills and 2.8 digs per game. Fredonia improved to 21-5 with
five wins during the week and is fourth in the latest New York
State Women's Collegiate Athletic Association (NYSWCAA) rankings.

SUNY Oswego junior middle hitter Shara Dowd (Hannibal, NY/Hannibal)
has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference
(SUNYAC) Volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending Oct.
2. Dowd recorded 45 kills, a .410 attack percentage, 14 blocks
and 24 digs in
a 3-0 week for the Lakers. She posted 20 kills, a .679 attack
percentage and eight digs in a 3-0 win over St. Lawrence and barely
missed a "triple-double" with 15 kills, nine digs and
eight blocks in a 3-1 victory versus Elmira. She averaged 4.5
kills, 1.4 blocks and 2.4 digs per game. Dowd is currently ranked
eighth nationally in attack percentage (.360) in Division III.
Oswego evened its record at 11-11 with its three victories.

SUNY New Paltz senior outside hitter Christina Mazurowski
(Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East) has been named the State University
of New York Athletic Confernece (SUNYAC) Women's Volleyball Player
of the Week for the week ending Sept. 25. Mazurowski recorded
53 kills, a .445 attack percentage and 31 blocks in five matches
for the Hawks at the SUNYAC East divisional round-robin in Utica.
She had 10 kills and 10 blocks in New Paltz's 3-2 win over nationally-ranked
Cortland -- the Hawks' first victory versus the Red Dragons in
43 tries. Mazurowski also registered 13 kills and five blocks
in a 3-0 win over Potsdam and 12 kills and seven blocks in a 3-1
victory versus Plattsburgh. New Paltz finished the weekend with
a 4-1 divisional record, tied for first with Cortland. The Hawks
are 12-4 overall this fall.

SUNY Cortland senior setter Lizz Rakita (Lake Grove, NY/Sachem)
has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference
(SUNYAC) Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending
Sept. 18.Rakita averaged 10.9 assists and 3.1 digs per game and
recorded 11 blocks during a 4-1 week for the nationally 20th-ranked
Red Dragons. She opened the week with 41 assists and 13 digs in
a 3-0 win at St. John Fisher. She was then named to the all-tournament
team at the RIT Invitational after helping Cortland (12-1) place
second in the 12-team field. Rakita totaled 43 assists and 15
digs in a 3-1 win over Clarkson and had 37 assists and 12 digs
in a 3-0 victory versus St. John Fisher. In the semifinals versus
Fredonia, she registered 33 assists, four aces and nine digs in
a 3-0 victory. Cortland lost 3-2 to fifth-ranked NYU in the championship
match despite Rakita's 43 assists, eight blocks and seven digs.

SUNY Fredonia senior setter Traci Pieczynski (Lancaster, NY/St.
Mary's) has been named the State University of New York Athletic
Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for
the week ending Sept. 11. Pieczynski led Fredonia to a 5-0 week,
including a 4-0 mark and first place finish at the Penn State
Behrend Tournament. The tournament Most Valuable Player, Pieczynski
averaged 10.6 assists per game during the week. She registered
55 assists in 3-2 wins versus both Principia and Washington and
Jefferson. Pieczynski recorded 42 assists and 11 digs in a 3-2
victory versus Bethany. Earlier in the week, she had 28 assists
in just two games of a 3-0 win over Alfred. The Blue Devils are
7-2 this fall.

SUNY Oneonta senior right-side hitter Jill Meehan (Albany, NY/Guilderland)
has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference
(SUNYAC) Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending
Sept. 4. Meehan recorded 55 kills, a .331 attack percentage, 32
digs and 12 blocks in five matches as Oneonta posted a 4-1 record
at its own Red Dragon Invitational. Her play earned her a spot
on the all-tournament team. Meehan reached double-figure kills
in four of five matches. She put down 18 kills, in addition to
registering 16 digs and seven blocks, in a 3-2 win over Clarkson.
She totaled 10 kills in three other matches. Meehan surpassed
the career 1,000-kill mark with a 10-kill effort in a 3-2 win
over Oswego.
