Cortland wins 2001 SUNYAC Volleyball Title
The Red Dragons Win Sixth Straight Conference Championship

CORTLAND, NY: Cortland won their sixth straight State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Volleyball Title Saturday afternoon by defeating Brockport 3-1. As a result, they receive an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament, which begins on Thursday, November 8.

The Red Dragons defeated Buffalo State 3-1 to advance to the finals against Brockport (23-10) for the second straight year. In the other semi-final match, Brockport defeated Oneonta 3-0.

Cortland (28-12), who has won 11 overall SUNYAC volleyball titles, followed up their semi-final victory by defeating Brockport 30-23, 30-27, 25-30, 30-26 in the championship game.

In first-round action on Friday, Buffalo State defeated Plattsburgh 3-0 to advance to the semifinals and Oneonta defeated Geneseo 3-1.
