February 16
MEN'S SWIMMING
Dan Evans, Cortland Sr. (Hamburg/Hamburg)
Evans was named Male Swimmer of the Meet at the SUNYAC championships for the second straight year. He broke a 16-year-old conference record in the 100-yard freestyle and led off the winning 400-yard freestyle relay team that set a school record during Cortland's final day of competition at the SUNYAC Men's Swimming and Diving Championships.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING
Michelle Rodriguez, Geneseo Jr. (Yorktown Heights/Yorktown)

Rodriguez was named Female Swimmer of the Meet at the SUNYAC championships. She won three events and two relays in leading Geneseo to their third straight SUNYAC Swimming & Diving championship. Rodriguez posted an NCAA Division III automatic qualifying time in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:00.01, went on to win the 100 free in an NCAA provisional time of 51.64, the 200 free in an NCAA provisional time of 1:52.64 and swam on the winning 400 and 800 freestyle relays.

MEN'S DIVING

Christian Torres, Fredonia Sr. (Dunkirk/Dunkirk)
Messina and Torres were both named Male Diver of the Meet at the SUNYAC championships. Messina was crowned the conference champion on the 3-meter springboard after scoring 508.60 points. Torres won the 1 meter dive with a score of 497.20.

WOMEN'S DIVING
Sarah Ficarro, Fredonia Fr. (Owego/Owego)

Ficarro was named Female Diver of the Meet at the SUNYAC championships. She won the women's 3m board with a mark of 433.80.

MEN'S DIVING
Eric Messina, Oswego Sophomre (Latham/Shaker)

Messina took first place on the 3-meter board and second place on the 1-meter board on Saturday in a dual competition versus Brockport. Messina registered 520.40 points on the 3-meter board and 489.80 points on the 1-meter board.

WOMEN'S DIVING
Eileen McMahon, Oswego Senior (Clay/CBA)

McMahon established new school records on the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard as she took first place in both events in a dual meet versus Brockport on Saturday. McMahon scored 441.85 points on the 1-meter board, breaking her mark of 435.40 points set in 2008. She also tallied 462.15 points on the 3-meter, bettering the record of 442.05 she set last year.

February 1
MEN'S SWIMMING
Joe Farrell, Oneonta Senior (Long Beach/Long Beach)
Farrell recorded four first place finishes this past weekend in a dual meet with Brockport and a quad meet at Fredonia with Hartwick and Cortland. Against Brockport he won both the 100 (49.36) and the 200 (1:47) freestyle events in leading Oneonta to a dual meet win. In the quad he won his two individual events, the 500 and the 1000 freestyle. In winning the 1000 he shattered a 30-year school record by 21 seconds when he record a personal best time by nearly 30 seconds of 10:16.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING
Kaitlin Mergler, Buffalo State Freshman (Amherst/Sweet Home)

Mergler broke a pair of school records in a dual meet against Brockport. She first set the school mark in the 100 free with a winning time of 54.98. She also broke the 200 free record, swimming the first leg of the 800 free relay in a time of 2:00.07. The relay finished with a new Kissinger Pool record time of 8:35.13. She also won the 500 free with a time of 5:27.67.

MEN'S DIVING
Christian Torres, Fredonia Senior (Dunkirk, NY)

Torres was victorious 4 times over the weekend. He won both the 1 and 3 meter events against Hartwick, Cortland and Oneonta on Saturday with scores of 291.00 and 302.05, both NCAA provisional scores. The latter score was a new pool record. On Sunday, On the 1m, 11-dive event for the men, Torres' total of 509.60 set the Blue Devil standard and was an NCAA qualifying mark. His six-dive total of 317.75 in the same event was also a school record. Torres also recorded an NCAA provisional score on the 3m board, totaling 482.30, in winning that event.

WOMEN'S DIVING
Sarah Ficarro, Fredonia Freshman (Owego/Owego Free Academy)

Ficarro was a 4x winner over the weekend at the Fredonia Quad meet on Saturday and the Ithaca Diving Invitational. On Saturday, Ficarro posted winning scores of 245.30 on 1 M (NCAA provisional score) and 248.90 on 3 meter. On Sunday, she followed up with 11 dive victories on 1 and 3 meter boards with scores of 383.65 and 458.75, which was also an NCAA provisional score.

January 25
MEN'S SWIMMING
Dan Evans, Cortland Senior (Hamburg/Hamburg)
Evans won the 50-yard freestyle (21.39) and 100-yard butterfly (52.93) in Cortland's 144-140 victory over New Paltz on Friday. He was also part of the winning 200-yard medley relay (1:38.47) and helped Cortland's 400-yard freestyle relay B team take third place that gave the Red Dragons the team victory.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING
Kristen Magliola, Oneonta Freshman (Shoreham/Shoreham Wading Rive)

Magliola won two individual events this past Saturday at the Kumpf Invitational hosted by Rensselaer. She reset her own school record in winning the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:01.36. In winning the 200-yard backstroke she was within a second of the school record with a time of 2:12.63. Prior to this meet, she had never swum the 200 back in a collegiate meet.

MEN'S DIVING
Kyle Kaznowski, Cortland Freshman (Kingston/Kingston)

Kaznowski won both the 1-meter (403.00 pts.) and 3-meter (441.55 pts.) diving events as Cortland defeated New Paltz, 144-140, in a home dual meet Friday.

WOMEN'S DIVING
Maria Quagliana, Brockport Junior (Horseheads/Horseheads)

Quagliana won three of four diving events for the week and scored an NCAA Provisional 11-dive score of 407.80 against Monroe CC.

January 18
MEN'S SWIMMING
Josh Kaplan, Geneseo Sophomore (Grand Island/Grand Island)
Kaplan won the 200 free (1:51.24), was second in the 500 free (5:03.59) and led off the winning 400 free relay in the win over MCC. Kaplan set a school record and posted an NCAA provisional time for the 100-yard backstroke in leading off the medley relay with a time of 52.74, won the 100 back with a time of 52.90 and was second in the 200 back in 1:58.53 to lead the Blue Wave over RIT and New Paltz.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING
Michelle Rodriguez, Geneseo Junior (Yorktown Heights/Yorktown)

Rodriguez was a triple individual winner in Geneseo's wins over RIT and New Paltz on Saturday, taking the 100-yard freestyle in 53.59, the 200 free in 1:56.44 and the 500 free in 5:16.38 and anchored the winning 400 freestyle relay.

MEN'S DIVING
Shawn Merlin, Oswego Junior (Palmyra/Palmyra-Macedon)

Merlin won the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events against Cortland with scores of 267.50 and 287.20 points, respectively. The 3-meter result met the NCAA Championship standard. He also posted an NCAA qualifying result on the 1-meter springboard against Potsdam with a score of 286.75.

WOMEN'S DIVING
Kelly Young, Geneseo Junior (Hamburg/Frontier)

Young won both boards on Thursday vs. MCC with scores of 235.85 in one-meter and 253.95 on the three-meter. She won both boards on Saturday in the tri-meet with RIT and New Paltz, setting a SUNYAC and school record in one-meter (304.72) and posting a score of 260.70 on the three-meter.

January 11
MEN'S SWIMMING
Dan Evans, Cortland Senior (Hamburg/Hamburg)
Evans won three events in Cortland's 165-135 dual-meet victory over Rochester. He captured the 50-yard freestyle (21.78), the 100-yard freestyle (48.35) and the 100-yard butterfly (53.60).

WOMEN'S SWIMMING
Kristin Barnoski, Cortland Senior (Stanley/Marcus Whitman)

Barnoski won the 50-yard freestyle (25.61) and the 100-yard freestyle (56.97) in Cortland's 165-135 dual-meet victory over visiting Rochester. She also anchored Cortland's winning 400-yard medley relay (4:10.04) and 200-yard freestyle relay (1:43.57).

MEN'S DIVING
Kyle Kaznowski, Cortland Freshman (Kingston/Kingston)

Kaznowski won both diving events to help Cortland defeat Rochester, 165-135, in a home dual meet. He won the 1-meter board with a score of 256.20 points and the 3-meter board with 276.25 points.

WOMEN'S DIVING
Maria Quagliana, Brockport Junior (Horseheads/Horseheads)

Quagliana won both the 1 and 3-meter diving events in the first meet of the second semester. She scored a 227.85 on the 3-meter board and a 242.55 on the 1-meter board.

December 14
MEN'S SWIMMING
Alex Miller, Oneonta Freshman (Oneonta/Oneonta)
In a meet against Cortland on December 11th, Miller set an Oneonta school and pool record in winning the 400 IM with a time of 4:32.59 before later winning the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 55.95.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING
Kristen Magliola, Oneonta Freshman (Shoreham/Shoreham Wading River)
Magliola closed out the fall semester with a pair of school and pool records as the SUNY Oneonta womenıs swimming and diving team fell to visiting Cortland on Friday 97-143. The freshman won the 400 IM in 4:45.80 breaking both the school and pool record in the event. She then won the 100 -yard breaststroke in 1:09.38 to break her second school and pool record of the day.

MEN'S DIVING
Kyle Kaznowski, Cortland Freshman (Kingston/Kingston)

Kaznowski finished first in one diving event and second in the other, both on the one-meter board, in a dual meet win at Oneonta.

WOMEN'S DIVING
Lauryn Kaznowski, Cortland Senior (Kingston/Kingston)

Kaznowski won one diving event (139.00 pts.) and placed second in the other (192.50 pts.), both on the one-meter board, in a dual-meet win at Oneonta.


December 7
MEN'S SWIMMING
Steve Cozzolongo, New Paltz Senior (Burlington, Connecticut/Lewis Mills)
Cozzolongo finished sixth overall in points scored in the ECAC Championships. He scored the most points out of any SUNYAC men's swimmer at the championships (105 points). He won the 100 Yard Backstroke in a time of 52.77 and is an NCAA consideration. He was second in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 52.84 and part of the relay team that finished fourth in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, 200 Yard Medley Relay and the 400 Yard Medley Relay.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING
Michelle Rodriguez, Geneseo Junior (Yorktown Heights/Yorktown)

Rodriguez helped Geneseo to their second straight team title at the ECAC Division III championships by posting a pair of NCAA provisional times in individual events and anchoring one winning relay and four second place relays. Rodriguez finished second in the 100 free in 52.75 and second in the 500 free in 5:06.65. Rodriguez anchored the 400 medley relay to a first place finish and the 200 medley, 200, 400 and 800 free relays to second place finishes, the latter coming in an NCAA provisional time.

MEN'S DIVING
Shawn Merlin, Oswego Junior (Palmyra/Palmyra-Macedon)
Merlin helped Oswego State to a third-place finish at the Fredonia Invitational with a pair of second place results in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. His score of 453.70 on the 1-meter springboard in 11 dives was a NCAA Championship qualifying mark, as was his score of 465.95 on the 3-meter springboard.

WOMEN'S DIVING
Maria Quagliana, Brockport Junior (Horseheads/Horseheads)

Quagliana took first place in the 1-meter diving event and was third in the 3-meter compeition with both scores provisionally qualifying her for NCAA's. She scored a 395.0 in the 1 meter and a 421.85 in the 3-meter.

November 23
MEN'S SWIMMING
Nathan Butler, Brockport Senior (Camillus/West Genesee)
Butler won his two individual events in the 100 and 200 backstroke. His times were 56:81 and 2:04:95 respectively.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING
Kristen Magliola, Oneonta Freshman (Shoreham/Shoreham Wading Rive)

Magliola won her three individual events this past weekend in leading the Red Dragons to a first place finish at the North Country Invitational hosted by Potsdam. In winning the 200-yard breaststroke (2:33.58), she set a new school record. Her split in the 400 MR (100 breaststroke - 1:09.90) also bettered her school record that she set earlier in the season. Her other two wins came in the 200-yard IM and the 100 breaststroke.

WOMEN'S DIVING
Sarah Ficarro, Fredonia Freshman (Owego/Owego)

Ficarro posted her first NCAA provisional qualifying score as part of the Blue Devils' home meet Saturday vs. Allegheny. Judges awarded Ficarro a six-dive score of 259.55 off the 1-meter springboard, less than two full points off the pool record of 261.31 held by Kelly Sponholz. Ficarro won the event as well as a second 1-meter competition consisting of five dives. Her 11-dive score of 430.40 was also an NCAA provisional qualifying performance.

November 16
MEN'S SWIMMING
Ken Pink, Geneseo Sophomore (Rochester/Pittsford Sutherland)
Pink won three events to lead the Blue Wave to a dual meet win over Cortland on Saturday as he captured the 100-yard breast (1:03.38), 200 breast (2:17.89) and the 200 IM (2:05.70).

WOMEN'S SWIMMING
Krista Bergquist, Cortland Senior (West Islip/West Islip)

Bergquist won the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.36) and 100-yard butterfly (1:02.56) in Cortland's dual-meet loss to Geneseo on Saturday. She also was part of the winning 200-yard medley relay team (1:53.73).

MEN'S DIVING
Dan Brigano, Brockport Junior (Utica/Proctor)
Brigano finished in second place in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events this past Saturday in Potsdam. Brigano qualified for Nationals with his score of 281.0 on the 1-meter drive.

WOMEN'S DIVING
Kelly Young, Geneseo Junior (Hamburg/Frontier)

Young won the one-meter diving with a school record and NCAA qualifying mark of 267.60 and the three-meter diving with a score of 218.25 in aiding Geneseo to a dual meet win over Cortland on Saturday.

November 9
MEN'S SWIMMING
Austin Brennan, Geneseo Freshman (Stony Brook/Ward Melville)
Brennan won three events by taking the 1000-yard free in 10:49.99, the 200 back in 2:02.56 and the 200 IM in 2:07.81 to lead Geneseo to a 164-127 win over Fredonia on Saturday.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING
Kaitlin Mergler, Buffalo State Freshman (Amherst/Sweet Home)

Mergler had an undefeated week, winning five individual events and setting two pool records and one school record in a pair of meets against Penn State Behrend and William Smith. Against Behrend, she won three events, winning the 50 free with a school and pool record time of 25.35. She also set Buffalo State pool record with a win in the 100 free with a time of 55.21. She also won the 500 free (5:35.05). On Saturday she won two events against William Smith, claiming the 200 free (2:04.48) and the 100 free (56.06).

MEN'S DIVING
Johnathon Fioravanti, Buffalo State Freshman (Ontario/Webster Schroeder)
Fioravanti swept the diving events in a dual meet against Penn State Behrend, and winning the 1-meter competition with an NCAA provisional score of 288.20, and claiming the 3-meter with a score of 252.95.

WOMEN'S DIVING
Maria Quagliana, Brockport Junior (Horseheads/Horseheads)

Quagliana won both diving events against Nazareth in Brockport's home opener. The junior scored a 231.10 in the one-meter event and a 234.75 in the three-meter competition.
