Women's Co-Swimmer of the Week

Anne Sarkissian, Oswego
Senior, Oswego, N.Y.

Participating in her final SUNY Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships, Oswego State's Anne Sarkissian was named Most Outstanding Swimmer and the recipient of the Grace Mowatt Award presented to the top senior at the event. In all, she won three individual titles in addition to being part of three winning relay teams. Sarkissian won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 57.69 that automatically qualified her for the upcoming NCAA Division III Championships. The senior then broke her own SUNYAC meet record in the 200 fly with a NCAA provisional time of 2:09.73. By winning both of those races it marked the fourth straight year she was crowned a conference champion. She earned her third first-place finish in the 50 freestyle with a provisional time of 24.42 seconds. Sarkissian was part of three relays that placed first with the 200 medley relay team posting an automatic qualifying time of 1:48.55. The 200 free (1:38.44) and the 400 medley (3:58.93) teams both posted provisional times in winning their events.

Women's Co-Diver of the Week

Lisa Cole, Brockport

At the SUNYAC Championships, Cole, who won the three-meter diving event earlier in the week, finished second in the one-meter dive with a score of 322.80 in the finals. In the three-meter finals, Cole scored a 341.90 total, winning easily over second place Gillian Sutera of Oneonta (327.65). Men’s Diver of the Week

Scott Horsington, Fredonia
Freshman, Rochester, N.Y.

Horsington remained unbeaten this season in 1-meter and 3-meter diving with victories Saturday against SUNY Geneseo. What makes the latest wins significant is that Horsington bested the defending State University of New York Athletic Conference champ in both events. Horsington's win streak covers eight meets.
