SWIMMERS AND DIVERS PREPARE FOR SUNYAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

men’s and women’s teams look to continue their reign
FREDONIA, NY – Polar Bear Club members may have already taken
their dip in the icy waters of Lake Erie, but there is one place you’ll find people
ready to take the plunge, this time in much warmer waters.

Head Coach Paul Dotterweich will attempt to guide his men’s and women’s teams
to victory in defense of last year’s titles.
The women’s team won their 13th consecutive SUNYAC title in

This year’s
championships also mark the return of Fredonia to the swimming and diving
ranks. After a 13-year absence as a
varsity sport, plans to return to the sport coincided with the construction of
a new Natatorium on campus. This year’s
squad consists of 22 athletes.
The
Championships start on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 12 noon with the diving
competition and continue Thursday, Friday and Saturday with preliminaries at 10
a.m. and finals at 6 p.m. each day. For
