SUNYAC Swimmers and Divers to Descend on BuffaloErie Community College's Flickinger Center to host 2001 ChampionshipsFREDONIA, NY The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) will hold its 39th Annual Men's and 18th Annual Women's Swimming and Diving Championships February 7-10 at Erie Community College's Burt Flickinger Center in downtown Buffalo, NY. Nine men and women's SUNYAC teams will compete for the conference crown Geneseo's men's and women's team will attempt to defend last year's title under new head coach Paul Dotterweich. The women's team has won 11 straight SUNYAC Championships and the men have won three SUNYAC Championships in the past four years. Trying to dethrone the Blue Knights will be the squads from Brockport, Buffalo State, Cortland, New Paltz, Oneonta, Oswego, Plattsburgh and Potsdam. Last year the New Paltz women came in second behind Geneseo and on the men's side, Cortland finished second behind the SUNYAC Champions. 2000 Final Team StandingsWomen's Results Pts. The Championships will start on Wednesday, February 7 at 12 noon with diving competition and continue on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with preliminaries starting at 10:00 a.m. and finals at 6:00 p.m. each day.
