SUNYAC Softball Players of the Week
Mruk helped lead the Bengals to a 10-0 week to close out the regular season, including road SUNYAC sweeps over SUNYIT, Potsdam, Plattsburgh and Geneseo. The freshman hit .417 (12-for-29) with five doubles, a homerun, and seven RBI. Mruk also walked three times, had a stolen base, and had a .690 slugging percentage. She led the Bengals with a .400 batting average in 20 SUNYAC regular season games. Pitcher of the Week The junior pitcher posted a 5-0 with a 0.38 ERA,
as she helped the Bengals close out the regular season on a 10-game
winning-streak. Scheffold tossed three shutouts during the week
including conference wins over SUNYIT, Potsdam, and a 10-inning
1-0 victory over Geneseo. In 37 innings, she struck out 33 while
walking only nine, and allowed just 18 hits. Sirianni was 11-for-21 (.524) over the six-game
stretch as the Bengals posted a 5-1 record. The junior centerfielder
pounded three doubles, a triple and a homerun with 10 RBI and
seven runs scored. She recorded a .905 slugging percentage as
she helped lead Buffalo State to sweeps over conference-rivals
Oneonta and New Paltz. Mitchell tossed a pair of shutouts over SUNYAC-rivals Brockport
and Geneseo and added a save in the second game against Brockport.
In just 13.2 innings of work, she allowed just four hits and no
runs, while striking out seven batters. Plattsburgh went 3-1 during
the week.
Stone hit .429 (6-for-14) at the plate with three homeruns, eight RBI and eight runs scored as she helped lead Cortland to a 3-0 week. She set a school record with three homeruns in a single game in a 13-3 victory over Brockport. Stone is leading the ninth ranked team in the nation with a .446 batting average, five homeruns and 16 RBI. This is the second consecutive week Stone has received the honor. Pitcher of the Week Adamshick posted a 3-0 week in conference play that included a one-hit shutout over Potsdam, a two-hit shutout over Brockport and a five-hitter in a 3-2 win over Plattsburgh. She registered a career-high 13 strikeouts in the win over Potsdam. In 19 innings, Adamshick allowed no earned runs and had 24 strikeouts. This is her second Pitcher the Week honor in a row.
Stone hit .800 (8-for-10) at the plate with a homerun, four doubles and four RBI as she helped lead Cortland to a 3-1 week. She also scored six runs and handled 25 chances in the field (11 putouts and 14 assists) without an error. Cortland swept Rochester and split a pair against King's (PA). Pitcher of the Week Adamshick posted a 2-0 week with wins over Rochester
and King's (PA). In 12 innings, she allowed just 10 hits and two
earned runs (1.17 ERA) and had eight strikeouts. Adamshick is
7-0 on the season with a 0.60 ERA. Worthington went 9-of-22 (.409) with a double and three RBI in the Sun West Tournament in Orange, CA. She started all eight games and helped the Wildcats to a 3-5 record that included victories over Northland, Dana and Hamilton. Pitcher of the Week Beiter posted a 4-0 record with a 0.72 ERA, while
limiting the opposition to a .198 batting average. In 25 innings
of work, she registered nine strikeouts, while walking just one
batter and allowing only five total runs. Beiter earned victories
against Lasell (MA), Wisconsin-Oshkosh, New England and Lawrence
(WI).
