Player of the Week
Lara Stone - Cortland
Jr., OF (Windsor/Windsor)

Stone went 11-of-23 (.478) with two doubles, two homeruns and 10 RBI in seven games. In a doubleheader sweep of Cazenovia, she went 5-of-6 with a double and three RBI. In a 6-5 win against Buffalo State at the 2003 SUNYAC Championship, Stone hit 3-of-four with one double and homerun and three RBI. Stone went 1-of-3 with a homerun and two RBI in an 8-0 win against Geneseo as the Red Dragons advanced to the championship round. Cortland lost to Oneonta in the first game of the championship round but won Game 2 to earn the conference title. Cortland is 38-6-1 and ranked fifth in Division III. The Red Dragons will host an NCAA regional Friday-Sunday.

Pitcher of the Week
Stephanie Adamshick - Cortland
Fr., P (Milton/Marlboro)

Adamshick went 3-0 on the week with one save, pitching 27 and two-thirds innings allowing 15 hits and four runs while registering 23 strikeouts and eight walks. At the 2003 SUNYAC Softball Championship, she allowed just four hits with no runs or walks and six strikeouts, in six innings in an 8-0 win over Geneseo. In the title game against Oneonta, she pitched eight innings and allowed six hits and two runs while walking three as Cortland won 3-2 and claimed the conference title and the accompanying NCAA automatic bid. The Red Dragons are 38-6-1 and ranked fifth in Division III.

Kim Comtois - Brockport
Sr., 3B (Delmar/Bethlehem Central)

Comtois went 16-for-30 (.533) with four doubles, five homeruns and 10 RBI in 10 games. She had five games with two or more hits as she helped the Golden Eagles to an 8-2 week. She also broke the Brockport record for career homeruns with her 17th at Fredonia. She currently has 20 career four-baggers.

Pitcher of the Week
Sarah Taub - Geneseo
Sr., P (DeWitt/Christian Bros. Acad.)

Taub went 3-1 on the week, pitching 27 innings and allowing just 12 hits and three runs while registering 40 strikeouts and no walks. Her only loss during the week was a 1-0 defeat in eight innings against Cortland.

Lara Stone - Cortland
Jr., OF (Windsor/Windsor)

Stone went 12-24 (.500) with two homeruns, two doubles, one triple and nine RBI in a 7-1 week for the Red Dragons. She was three for three with a homerun and three RBI in a 9-0 at New Paltz. Stone is second in the conference with 19 RBI, and tied for third in the conference with five homeruns. Cortland is 26-4, 10-2 and ranked fourth in Division III.

Pitcher of the Week
Lara Almansberger - Cortland
Jr., P (Fairport/Fairport)

Almansberger threw back-to-back no hitters on consecutive days for the Red Dragons. She threw a five-inning perfect game with six strikeouts in a 9-0 victory at New Paltz, and allowed only one baserunner on an error in a 4-0 win at SUNYIT. Almansberger also threw a two-hit shutout vs. Brockport in a 1-0 win. She is 8-0 this season.

Julie Gentner - Cortland
Sr., SS (Williamsville/Williamsville South)

Gentner went 9-for-16 (.562) with four homeruns, four doubles and nine RBI
in a 5-1 week for the Red Dragons. She hit three homeruns in a doubleheader
sweep of Potsdam. Gentner ranks eighth in the conference with a .394 batting average and leads the league in RBI (24), doubles (12) and home runs (5). Cortland is 19-3, 5-1 and ranked fourth in Division III.

Pitcher of the Week
Elizabeth Beiter - Buffalo State
Jr., P (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda)

Beiter was 3-0 in three starts and did not allow a single run in 15 innings
of work. She threw a complete game two-hitter in a 7-0 win over Oneonta and
allowed just one hit in a five-inning 8-0 win over RIT. She is off to a 6-0
start this season. Beiter ranks fourth in the conference with a 1.31 ERA. The Bengals are 12-6, 3-1 on the season.

Player of the Week
Kathy Riggs - Brockport
Sr., 1B (Batavia/Elba)

Riggs was 6-for-8 in a 2-0 week for the Golden Eagles. In Game 1 of a doubleheader against Rochester (8-0), she was 3-for-4 with two RBI and a triple. In Game 2, she batted 3-for-4 with a double. Riggs is hitting .383 with a .574 slugging percentage.

Pitcher of the Week
Kristen Clark - Brockport
Sr., P (Hilton/Hilton)

Clark pitched a complete game shutout with six strikeouts in the first game of a doubleheader against Rochester on Wednesday. Brockport won the game 8-0. In the second game, Brockport defeated Rochester 6-4. In that game, Clark pitched one inning, faced three batters and struck out two. She is 7-1 on the season and leads the conference with a .016 ERA.

Randi Johnson - Plattsburgh
Sr., Outfield (Saugerties/Saugerties)

Johson was 7-for-13 with seven runs and four RBI in four games this weekend, including a 3-for-3 performance with three runs and two RBI in an 11-0 win at New Paltz.

Pitcher of the Week
Sarah Taub - Geneseo
Sr., P (DeWitt/CBA)

Taub did not allow an earned run and registered 19 strikeouts in 14 2/3 innings this past week. She threw seven perfect innings before allowing an unearned run in the eight inning tiebreaker against Averett. She also threw a three-hit shutout in a win over No. 13 Roanoke.

Player of the Week
Beth Oppenheimer - Oneonta
Sr., 2B (Webster/Webster)

Oppenheimer helped lead Oneonta to a 6-2 record in Ft. Myers, FL as she went 15-of-26 for a .577 batting average. She added seven runs scored and seven runs batted in and recorded a .654 slugging percentage.

Pitcher of the Week
Kristen Clark - Brockport
Sr., P (Hilton/Hilton)

Clark posted a 4-1 record on the mound and added two saves, while recording a 0.19 ERA for Brockport this past week. She hurled a complete game one-hit shutout and registered 11 strikeouts in a 7-0 win over NYU. She also scattered five hits and had eight strikeouts in a 3-2 win over Fontbonne.
