May 6, 2003 Stone went 11-of-23 (.478) with two doubles, two homeruns and 10 RBI in seven games. In a doubleheader sweep of Cazenovia, she went 5-of-6 with a double and three RBI. In a 6-5 win against Buffalo State at the 2003 SUNYAC Championship, Stone hit 3-of-four with one double and homerun and three RBI. Stone, a native of Windsor, New York, went 1-of-3 with a homerun and two RBI in an 8-0 win against Geneseo as the Red Dragons advanced to the championship round. Cortland lost to Oneonta in the first game of the championship round but won Game 2 to earn the conference title. Cortland is 38-6-1 and ranked fifth in Division III. The Red Dragons will host an NCAA regional Friday-Sunday. April 22, 2003 Stone went 12-24 (.500) with two homeruns, two doubles, one triple and nine RBI in a 7-1 week for the Red Dragons. She was three for three with a homerun and three RBI in a 9-0 at New Paltz. The Windsor, New York native is second in the conference with 19 RBI, and tied for third in the conference with five homeruns. Cortland is 26-4, 10-2 and ranked fourth in Division III. April 15, 2003 Gentner, a senior shortstop from Williamsville, New York, went 9 for 16 (.562) with four home runs, four doubles and nine RBI in a 5-1 week for the Red Dragons. She hit three home runs in a doubleheader sweep of Potsdam. Gentner has a .394 batting average and leads the league in RBI (24), doubles (12) and home runs (5). Pitcher of the Week Beiter, a junior from Tonawanda, New York, was 3-0 in three starts
and did not allow a single run in 15 innings of work. She threw a
complete game two-hitter in a 7-0 win over Oneonta and allowed just
one hit in a five-inning 8-0 win over RIT. She is off to a 6-0 start
for the season and has posted a 1.31 ERA. April 8, 2003 Clark pitched a complete game shutout with six strikeouts in the
first game of a doubleheader against Rochester on Wednesday. Brockport
won the game 8-0. In the second game, Brockport defeated Rochester
6-4. In that game, Clark, a native of Hilton, New York, pitched one
inning, faced three batters and struck out two. She is 7-1 on the
season and leads the conference with a .016 ERA. April 1, 2003 The De Witt, New York native, did not allow an earned run and registered
19 strikeouts in 14 2/3 innings this past week. She threw seven perfect
innings before allowing an unearned run in the eight-inning tiebreaker
against Averett. She also threw a three-hit shutout in a win over
No. 13 Roanoke.
