State University College at Cortland

Sophomore Lara Almansberger went 3-1 with two shutouts and a 0.58 earned run average to bring State University College at Cortland's record to 31-9 on the season. The Fairport, New York native pitched a six-inning five-hit shutout in an 11-0 victory over State University of New York Institute of Technology at Utica/Rome and allowed only one earned run in six innings in a 2-0 loss to State University College at Geneseo. Almansberger then pitched a three-hit shutout over State University College at Buffalo in a 6-0 victory and surrendered no earned runs in two innings of relief in a 14-1 victory over State University College at Fredonia. On the season, Almansberger has a 15-3 record with six shutouts and 1.40 earned run average on the season.

State University College at Buffalo

Helping the State University College at Buffalo Bengals to a 6-0 record in the State University of New York Athletic Conference this past week, Brosius went 10-for-16 at the plate, recording four runs batted in and nine runs scored. She stole a base and recorded three sacrifices. On the field, the North Tonawanda, New York native successfully fielded 53 chances.

Pitcher of the Week:
Annemarie Cangiolosi, Sr., P - (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) State University College at Cortland

Leading No. 8 State University College at Cortland to a strong week, senior pitcher Annemarie Cangiolosi posted a 3-1 record and a 0.61 earned run average in four complete games, including two shutouts, 15 strikeouts in 23.0 innings pitched. The East Hampton, New York native struck out 11 in a 7-4 victory over Plattsburgh State University of New York. She then tossed her first ever five-inning no-hitter in an 11-0 victory over State University College at Oswego, followed by a one-hit shutout over State University College at New Paltz. At the plate, Cangiolosi led the team in batting during the week, hitting .615 with two doubles, a triple and seven runs batted in.

State University College at Oneonta

Leading the State University College at Oneonta Red Dragons to a 5-0 record on the week, junior second baseman Beth Oppenheimer hit for a .632 batting average with eight runs batted in and four runs scored, totaling 16 bases for an .842 slugging percentage. In a double header sweep of State University of New York Athletic Conference foe State University College at Buffalo, Oppenheimer combined for four-for-six at the plate with a home run and two runs batted in. The home run came in game one as part of a four-run third inning.

Plattsburgh State University of New York

Plattsburgh State University of New York senior, Lisa Marlow has captured seven straight decisions to improve to an 8-2 record on the season. The Rouses Point, New York native pitched a no-hitter in a 1-0 State University of New York Athletic Conference victory, recording her second no-hitter of her career. Marlow only allowed two base runners in the game. She now has a 0.78 earned run average, while striking out 45 and walking 24 batters.

Pitcher of the Week:
Annemarie Cangiolosi

State University College at Cortland
Cangiolosi went 3-0 with three complete games while posting a 0.00 earned runs average, 19 strikeouts and no walks in 20 innings pitched. In a 10-0 win over State University College at Oneonta, Cangiolosi pitched a six-hit shutout with four strikeouts. Against Cazenovia College, she struck out a career-high 12 batters in a 3-1 eight inning win. Cangiolosi capped off her week with a five-inning 9-1 win over St. Lawrence University in which she allowed just four singles and struck out three batters. Cangiolosi was also selected as the State University of New York Collegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.

April 3, 2002

Player of the Week:
Jonna Ball, Jr., 2B - (Peekskill, NY/Hendrick Hudson)
State University College at Cortland
Ball batted .571 on the week to lead the State University College at Cortland Red Dragons to a 2-0 week. Recording a triple, a home run, four runs scored and two runs batted in, Ball contributed to the team's 9-0 and 10-0 victories over State University of New York Athletic Conference opponent, State University College at Potsdam.

March 27, 2002

Co-Player of the Week
Kathleen Riggs, Jr., 1B - (Batavia, NY/Elba Central)
State University College at Brockport
Riggs hit .429 with three homers, notching 10 RBI's and a .929 slugging percentage in nine games for the 7-2 Golden Eagles. The junior first baseman had 26 total bases, three doubles and a triple on the week.

Annemarie Cangiolosi
, Sr. - (East Hampton, NY/East Hampton)
State University College at Cortland
State University College at Cortland senior Annemarie Cangiolosi did not allow an earned run and struck out 12 batters in 13 innings pitched at the Montclair/Kean Classic. Cangiolosi pitched a one-hitter; striking out eight batters and walking none in five innings in an 8-0 win over Bridgewater State College. The 20th ranked Red Dragons finished the tournament in second place with a 3-1 record.
