SUNYAC Leaf Raking Project
FREDONIA -- The State University of New York Athletic Conference held its third annual leaf-raking project for elderly residents as eight schools - 1,549 student-athletes at 253 sites - participated across the state. The project was coordinated by Dr. Patrick Damore, SUNYAC Commissioner, and Susan Hoffman, Assistant Director of Athletics at SUNY Brockport. It took place on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, for about a three-hour time frame at nearby communities of participating schools. This conference-wide initiative demonstrated the student-athletes' commitment to their communities. In 2005, the SUNYAC received an honorable mention from the National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators for this outstanding community service project.
