April 23
Track Athlete - Male

Andy Hale - Oswego
Freshman, (Frewsburg, NY/Frewsburg)
Hale broke his own school record in the 110-meter hurdles with a second-place time of 15.56 seconds at the Hamilton College Invitational. He also placed second in the 400-meter hurdles (56.54) and ran the anchor leg on the 4x100-meter relay team that set a school record in 43.69 seconds.

Christina Acquaviva - Cortland
Senior (Utica, N.Y./T.R. Proctor)
Acquaviva won the 400 meters (:58.91) and the 200 meters (:26.35) at the Cortland Classic. Both times are ECAC qualifiers. She also tied for first in the high jump (1.55 meters). This is her third time being honored by SUNYAC this spring.

Sophomore, (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury)
Gonzalez was the top collegiate finisher in the hammer throw at the Brockport Golden Eagles Invitational. His distance of 53.79 meters (176' 6") provisionally qualifies him for the NCAA Division III Championships.

Sarah Kimball - Cortland
Sophomore (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool)
Kimball is a repeat selection this week after breaking her own SUNYAC record in the pole vault for the second straight week. Her 3.57 clearance won the Cortland Classic and is an NCAA provisional height.

April 16
Track Athlete - Male

Fred Joslyn - Cortland
Senior, (Chenango Forks/Chenango Forks)
For the second time in as many weeks, Joslyn has been selected as the SUNYAC Track Athlete of the Week. Fred won the 10,000-meter run at the Bucknell University Bison Outdoor Classic with a time of 29:55.14. His time set a new school record, a new stadium record, and also automatically qualified him for the NCAA Division III Championships.

Meghan Nolan - Geneseo
Junior (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool)
Nolan ran the fastest 1,500-meter time so far in the 2007 NCAA Division III outdoor season and the third-fastest time ever at Geneseo with a 4:33.40 clocking while competing at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic.

Jake Zanetti - Cortland
Sophomore, (Saratoga Springs, Saratoga Springs)
Zanetti won the pole vault at the Bucknell University Bison Outdoor Classic, clearing 15'11". His time is a new SUNYAC record and school record, and was also good enough to provisionally qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships.

Sarah Kimball - Cortland
Sophomore (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool)
Kimball finished first in a field of 27 in the pole vault at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic. She broke the school record - and quite possibly, the SUNYAC outdoor mark - by clearing 3.50 meters (11' 5 ¾"). The height is an NCAA provisional qualifier.

April 9
Track Athlete - Female

Christina Acquaviva - Cortland
Senior, (Utica, N.Y./T.R. Proctor)
For the second week in a row, Acquaviva has been chosen as the SUNYAC Track Athlete of the Week. At the William and Mary Colonial Relays, Christina set a school record and automatically qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships, with her time of 14.31 in the 100-meter hurdles.

Fred Joslyn - Cortland
Senior, (Chenango Forks/Chenango Forks)
Joslyn placed 5th overall (top Division III finisher) in the 5,000-meters at the William and Mary Colonial Relays, finishing with a time of 14:26.63. That time broke his own school record by more than 13 seconds, and automatically qualified him for the NCAA Championships.

 

April 2
Track Athlete - Female
Christina Acquaviva - Cortland
Senior, (Utica, N.Y./T.R. Proctor)
Competing at the Ithaca Invitational, Acquaviva won the 200 meters (:26.37) and the 100-meter hurdles (:15.02) while also anchoring the winning 4-by-400 meter relay. All three times were ECAC qualifying efforts and her hurdles time missed the NCAA provisional mark by 0.02 of a second.

Amanda Haney - Geneseo
Junior, (Sidney/Sidney)
Haney also competed at Ithaca, where she won the high jump with an NCAA provisional height of 1.69 meters, only .02 meters off the automatic height.

Track Athlete - Men
Matt Bieringer - Cortland
Sophomore, (Center Moriches, NY/Center Moriches)
Bieringer won both the 100-meter dash (11.09) and 200-meter dash (22.44) at the Ithaca College Invitational. He also anchored Cortland's winning 4x100-meter relay team (43.15). All three performances are ECAC Division III Championship qualifiers.

Field Athlete - Men
Josh Dupuis - Brockport
Junior, (Tupper Lake, NY/Tupper Lake)
Dupuis won both the shot put and the discus at the predominantly Division I Maryland Terrapin Invitational. His shot put of 16.37 meters is a school record and an NCAA Division III Championship provisional qualifier. His discus distance of 46.63 meters is a new personal best.
