SUNYAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships to be Held This Weekend
in Brockport
Cortland Men and
Geneseo Women to Defend Titles
Teams from Brockport, Buffalo State, Cortland, Fredonia,
Geneseo, Oneonta, Oswego and Plattsburgh will compete in this year’s 39th
annual men’s and 23rd annual women’s competitions.
The Geneseo women’s team will attempt to win its fourth
straight outdoor championship in 2006. The Knights return senior, Marta Scott (South Wales/East Aurora)
who claimed the 2005 title in the 1500 meters while classmate Mary Kosloski (Tonawanda/Kenmore East) returns
to defend her title in the triple jump. Sophomore Meghan Nolan (Liverpool/Liverpool) will look to defend their title
in the 800 meters.
The two-day event begins at 2 p.m. on Friday with the men’s
long jump, men’s hammer throw, women’s shot put, women’s pole vault, and the semi
heat of the women’s 1500 meter run. Friday concludes at 5:50 p.m. with the men’s
10,000 meters. Saturday, the action begins at 10:00 a.m. with the men’s javelin,
men’s pole vault, women’s triple jump, the women’s discus throw and concludes
at 2:40 p.m. with the men’s 4x400 relay. For more information and up-to-date performance
