2002 SUNYAC Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships to be held in Kingston, N.Y.
Cortland men and women will attempt to defend their SUNYAC titles

FREDONIA, NY - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) will hold the 35th Annual Men's and 19th Annual Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Dietz Stadium in Kingston, N.Y. on Saturday, April 27, 2002, with New Paltz hosting.

Cortland is the defending men's champion after scoring 148.5 points, and taking home one relay and six individual titles in 2001. Geneseo finished in second place with 102 points and three individual titles, and Fredonia finished third with 92.5 points and four individual titles.
The Cortland women are looking to defend their crown after winning four in a row, and 11 total SUNYAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the 18 years of SUNYAC Championships. The Red Dragons finished with 203 total points in last year's championships, including both relay events and seven individual titles. Geneseo finished with 94 points and three individual titles, while Plattsburgh finished third with 87 points and two individual titles.

Field events will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the running events will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the last running event scheduled to begin at 3:55 p.m.
