The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced its men's soccer Player of the Week for the week ending October 21, 2001. SUNY Geneseo's Eric Lauricella (Rochester/Aquinas) takes this week's men's honors after leading his team to two victories last week. Lauricella tallied two goals in a 3-1 win over Brockport and one goal in a 2-0 win over Saint John Fisher. Lauricella scored both game-winning goals to lead Geneseo 10-6 (6-3 SUNYAC) to a 2-0 week, including the win over Brockport to clinch a berth in the SUNYAC playoffs.

October 15, 2001
The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced its men's soccer Co-Players of the Week for the week ending October 14, 2001. SUNY Cortland junior forward Samir Sisic (Cazin, Bosnia/Ibrahim Perviz) and SUNY Brockport freshman midfielder Mike Abgarian (Merrick/Bellmore JFK) share this week's men's honors. Sisic scored both goals in a 2-0 win over nationally 18th-ranked Fredonia and added the game winner in a 5-1 victory over Buffalo State. Sisic leads the Red Dragons, 9-4-1 overall and 5-3 in SUNYAC play, in scoring with 10 goals and two assists for 22 points. Abgarian scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win over nationally 15th-ranked Plattsburgh, who entered the game undefeated in SUNYAC action, and he tallied the game winner in overtime in a 1-0 victory over Potsdam. Abgarian has six goals on the season for the Golden Eagles, who are 7-6 overall and 5-3 in conference play.

October 8, 2001
The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced John Schraner (Greenlawn/John H. Glenn) as the men'ssoccer Player of the Week for the week ending October 7, 2001. The SUNY Plattsburgh senior goalkeeper led his team to a pair of shutout wins over conference opponents. Schraner has not allowed a goal in SUNYAC competition all season. He held No. 13 Fredonia and Buffalo State scoreless while he was in the game to extend his SUNYAC scoreless streak to 415 minutes. The Cardinals are in first place with a conference record of 6-0-0 and 10-1-1 over all.

October 1, 2001
The State University of New York Athletic Conference SUNYAC) has announced its men's soccer Player of the Week for the week ending September 30, 2001. SUNY Brockport freshman forward Anthony Jaworski (Centereach, NY/Newfield) is the winner after leading the Golden Eagles to a pair of conference victories. He scored two goals, including the tying and winning tallies, in a 2-1 victory over Oswego on Friday, then repeated the feat in a 3-2 win versus Cortland on Saturday. Jaworski leads Brockport this fall with 10 goals, including four game-winners. The Golden Eagles are 5-5 overall and 3-3 in SUNYAC play.

September 24, 2001
The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC)
has announced its men's soccer player of the week for the week ending September 23, 2001. Plattsburgh State's Brad Fuller (Valley Falls,NY/Shenendehowa) a sophomore midfielder has won the award for the second time this season. Fuller had both game-winning goals in a 1-0 win at Oswego, and a 2-0 win at Cortland. He has 7 goals so far this season.

September 17, 2001
Cortland's Jesse Mankowsi (Clarence, NY/Clarence) contributed to all three goals in a win over St. John Fisher. He scored the first two goals and assisted on the third, all coming in the first half of the 3-1 victory. Cortland (4-1-1) is off to their best start since 1993 and ranked fourth in the Northeast Region.

September 10, 2001
Winning the men's Player of the Week honor is Plattsburgh's Brad Fuller (Valley Falls, NY/Shenendehowa). Fuller, a midfielder, logged a pair of dramatic game winning goals to earn the men's award. He scored in the 82nd minute to break a 1-1 tie in a win over Roger Williams on Saturday in the opening round of the Massachusetts College Fall Classic. on Sunday, his goal with one minute left in overtime game the Cardinals a 1-0 win over Southern Maine and the tournament title. Fuller was named the tournament's Offensive Most Valuable Player. The three time defending league champion Cardinals are off to a 4-1 start this fall.
