30 Plattsburgh senior midfielder Ryan Forsberg (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott)
has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) men's
soccer Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 29.Forsberg scored twice and
assisted on a goal in Plattsburgh's 8-0 victory versus Clarkson. He also assisted
on both goals in a 2-1 win over St. Lawrence as the nationally 16th-ranked Cardinals
extended their winning streak to seven games and overall unbeaten streak to 10
games.Plattsburgh is 14-2-2 this fall and begins defense of its SUNYAC title when
it hosts Cortland Tuesday in the opening round of the league tournament. October
23 Geneseo sophomore midfielder Judah Manetta (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia)
has been chosen as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC)
men's soccer Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 22.Manetta scored three
goals and assisted on another in a 3-0 week for the Knights as they captured their
first-ever SUNYAC regular-season title. Manetta opened the week with a goal in
a 2-0 win over Brockport, then recorded a goal and an assist in a 3-1 victory
versus Fredonia. The 2005 SUNYAC Rookie of the Year wrapped up the week Saturday
by scoring the game-winning goal in a 2-1 triumph over Buffalo State.Manetta has
six goals and three assists this fall for Geneseo, which finished the SUNYAC schedule
with an 8-1 record and is currently 11-3-1 overall.

16 Plattsburgh senior forward Mark Misiak (Oakville, Ontario/White Oaks
Secondary) has been chosen as the State University of New York Athletic Conference
(SUNYAC) men's soccer Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 15. Misiak scored
the game-winning goal in each of Plattsburgh's two league victories during the
week. On Friday, he netted a goal and assisted on another in a 4-1 win over Oswego.
The following day, he scored the Cardinals' first goal in a 2-0 win versus Cortland.
Misiak has four goals and a SUNYAC-leading eight assists in 15 games for the nationally
16th-ranked Cardinals. Plattsburgh is currently 11-2-2 overall and 6-2 in league
play. October 9 Cortland junior
forward Bryan Patterson (Farmingdale, NY/Farmingdale) has been named the State
University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) men's soccer Player of the
Week for the week ending Oct. 8.Patterson came off the bench to score both goals
in the Red Dragons' 2-0 victory at Buffalo State on Friday. He tallied the game-winning
goal in the 42nd minute after forcing a goalie turnover and added an insurance
goal off a header in the 51st minute. Patterson is currently tied for Cortland's
team lead with six goals this season. October
2 Buffalo State senior forward Prisco Houndanon (Togo, West Africa) has
been selected as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC)
men's soccer Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 1. Houndanon recorded
three goals and one assist during a 3-0 week for the Bengals. He tallied two
goals in a 3-0 win at New Paltz on Friday, followed by a goal and assist Saturday
in a 3-0 win at SUNYIT.Houndanon leads Buffalo State this fall with six goals
and three assist for 15 points. The Bengals are currently 6-5 overall and 3-1
in SUNYAC play.
September 25 Brockport
sophomore midfielder Steve Abgarian (Merrick, NY/Bellmore-J.F.K.) has been chosen
as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) men's soccer
Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 24. Abgarian scored the game-winning
goal in both of Brockport's games during the week. On Friday, he scored less than
10 minutes into the game to give the Golden Eagles a 1-0 home win over Plattsburgh.
The following day, his goal with 16 seconds left propelled Brockport to a 2-1
victory over Potsdam. Abgarian has four goals this season for Brockport, which
currently leads the SUNYAC with a 3-0-1 league mark.

17 Fredonia senior forward Matt Mahaffey (Lakeview, NY/Frontier) has been
chosen as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) men's
soccer Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 17. Mahaffey recorded three
goals, including a pair of game-winning scores, along with one assist in two games.
On Friday, his side volley shot helped the Blue Devils post a 2-0 win over nationally
13th-ranked and 2005 national semifinalist Plattsburgh. The following day, he
scored twice and assisted on a goal in a 7-0 victory over Potsdam. Fredonia is
currently tied for the SUNYAC lead with a 2-0 record and is 4-3 overall. September
10 Plattsburgh senior defender Alex Deckert (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Hendrick
Hudson) has been selected as the State University of New York Athletic Conference
(SUNYAC) men's soccer Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 10. Deckert
was named the Defensive Most Valuable Player of Plattsburgh's Cardinal Classic
last weekend. He anchored a defensive unit that posted shutouts in a 2-0 win over
Baruch and a 0-0 tie versus Springfield. Deckert then converted on Plattsburgh's
final attempt of the penalty-kick shootout to give the Cardinals their seventh
consecutive Classic title. Plattsburgh, a national semifinalist last season, is
off to a 3-0-1 start this fall and has not allowed a goal in 380 minutes.
September 3 Geneseo sophomore midfielder Judah Manetta
(Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia) has been named the State University of New York
Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) men's soccer Player of the Week for the week ending
Sept. 3. The 2005 SUNYAC Rookie of the Year, Manetta scored 27 seconds into overtime
to give the Knights a 1-0 win over RIT Saturday at RIT's tournament. An all-tournament
team selection, Manetta also scored Geneseo's lone goal in a 2-1 overtime loss
to Nazareth Friday.
