PLATTSBURGH SELECTED TO WIN SUNYAC CHAMPIONSHIP
FREDONIA, N.Y. - The Plattsburgh men's soccer team has been picked by the
SUNYAC coaches to win the 2004 SUNYAC Championship, receiving seven of ten
first-place votes and 97 total points. The Cardinals went undefeated in conference
play during the season and 15-5 overall.
Cortland was selected second with 83 points and three first-place votes. The
Red Dragons went 6-3 in conference play last season and claimed their third
consecutive title with a 1-0 win over Fredonia.
Geneseo was third with 77 points ending 2003 with a 7-1-1 record in conference
play and 11-7-3 overall. The Knights were ECAC finalists losing to University
of Rochester 2-1 in overtime.
Fredonia came in fourth with 73 points and completed the 2003 season with
a 5-3-1 record.
The conference season begins Friday, September 17.
