Ross Morelli (Rochester/Hilton)
of Cortland was selected as Men's Player of the Week.
The freshman goalkeeper stopped a penalty kick in the second half against Ithaca to preserve a 1-0 win over the Bombers. This is Cortland's first win over Ithaca since 1993. Morelli has a 7-1 record with four shutouts, a .96 GAA and a .844 saves percentage on the season. The Red Dragons are 13-5-1, 7-2 and seeded second in this weekend's SUNYAC Championship tournament.

Winning the Men's Player of the Week honor is Cortland's Jesse Mankowski (Clarence/Clarence). Mankowski had five goals and two assists in Cortland's last two games as the Red Dragons defeated Oswego 5-1 and Elmira 5-0. The senior forward has scored 11 goals and added six assists in his last six games, including the game-winning goal against Elmira. The win against Oswego clinched second place in the conference for Cortland, 12-5-1, 7-2. He has also helped the Red Dragons set a new single-season team goal-scoring record with 55 goals breaking the old record of 52 set back in 1977. Mankowski ranks third in the conference in overall stats with 14 goals and nine assists.

Winning the Men's Player of the Week honor is Brockport's Kevin Drumm (Fabius/Fabius-Pompey). Drumm scored four goals and had one assist this past week as Brockport recorded wins over Medialle, Plattsburgh and Potsdam. Two of his goals, including the game-winner, came against Plattsburgh as the Golden Eagles defeated the eighth-ranked team in Division III 4-1. The sophomore midfielder ranks fourth on the team and 16th in the conference in scoring with 15 points. Brockport, the only undeafeated team in conference play, clinched the SUNYAC regular season title with their 2-1 win over Potsdam and improved their record to 13-2, 8-0 SUNYAC.

Winning the Men's Player of the Week honor is Potsdam's Lucas Smith (Ogdensburg/Morristown). Smith recorded two shutouts against SUNYAC opponents this week, as Potsdam defeated Buffalo State 1-0 and Fredonia 1-0. The goalkeeper holds the school record for shutouts in a season with eight. He also ranks second in the conference with 57 saves, a .891 saves percentage and a GAA of .65. Potsdam improves their record to 8-3-1, 4-1-1 SUNYAC.

October 7, 2002
Winning the Men's Player of the Week honor is Brockport's Anthony Jaworski (Long Island/Newfield). Jaworski recorded a hat trick in a 4-3 win at Oswego Friday and scored the game-tying penalty kick with no time remaining in regulation to send the Golden Eagles into overtime against Cortland. Brockport won the game 3-2 in double overtime. The sophomore forward leads Brockport in scoring with 14 goals, four of them being game winners. He is three-for-three in penalty kicks this season and is tied for first in the conference with 30 points. Brockport 10-2, 6-0, good for first place in the conference.

September 30, 2002
Oswego's John Spuhler (Fulton/G. Ray Bodley) claims Player of the Week honors for the men after recording two shutouts against SUNYAC opponents this past week. The first came against nationally-ranked Plattsburgh, where the sophomore keeper turned away 10 shots as Oswego defeated Plattsburgh 1-0. He also made seven saves as the Lakers played Potsdam to a scoreless tie on Saturday. Spuhler currently ranks fifth in the conference in goalkeeping with a .91 GAA and .881 saves percentage. Oswego improves to 4-4-2, 1-0-1 SUNYAC.

September 23, 2002
Brockport's Shane Sutton (Honeoye Falls/Honeoye Falls-Lima) claims Player of the Week honors for the men, period ending Sept. 22, 2002, as he recorded his fourth straight shutout on Saturday with wins over SUNYAC opponents, Fredonia and Buffalo State. The senior goalkeeper ranks fourth in the conference with a .800 GAA and a .872 saves percentage. Brockport improved their record to 6-2, 2-0 SUNYAC.

September 16, 2002
Plattsburgh's Jeff Adams (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) claims the Player of the Week honor for the men, period ending Sept. 15, 2002, as he earned his second shutout in a row and second of the season in 1-0 win at Norwich. The sophomore keeper tipped a hard shot over the bar in the first half and stopped a breakaway in the second to preserve the shutout. He ranks first in SUNYAC with a GAA of .29 in 315 minutes played. Plattsburgh is 4-0 on the season and ranked first in the NSCAA/Adidas Regional Rankings poll.

Winning the men's Player of the Week honor for week ending September 8, 2002 is Plattsburgh's Mike Figliola (Mississauga, ONT/Iona Catholic). He scored two goals in all three games so far this season for the Bear's. Figliola was also named Offensive MVP at the Pepsi Cardinal Classic, which featured wins over St. John Fisher and St. Joseph's (NY). Figliola, a freshman forward, has six goals and three assists and leads all conference scorers with 15 points.
