Player of the Week

Kyle Lambert - Cortland
So., A (Brentwood/Brentwood)

Kyle Lambert, a SUNY Cortland sophomore attacker registered nine points to become the SUNYAC Player of the Week. Lambert had four goals and one assist in Cortland's 13-5 win over Geneseo and four goals in a 21-2 win over Plattsburgh. Lambert leads the Red Dragons in scoring with 33 goals including four game-winners. With 38 conference points he is ranked third in the SUNYAC.

Goalkeeper of the Week
Ben Gaebel - Cortland
So. G (Deferiet/ Carthage)

For the second time this season, Ben Gaebel, a Cortland sophomore, has been named the SUNYAC Goalkeeper of the Week. Gaebel has a 5-1 record for 2004 which includes a 6.79 GAA and a .583 save percentage. Cortland, currently ranked third in the nation, has won 12 straight games and is the top-seeded team in the upcoming SUNYAC Tournament.

Dave Spennacchio - Geneseo

Geneseo's Dave Spennacchio scored 7 goals, added 10 assists and collected 8 groundballs in last week's two wins to make his second appearance as the SUNYAC Player of the Week. Spennacchio had 6 goals in Geneseo's 14-6 win over Potsdam and 1 goal and 10 assists in their 22-16 victory over Alfred. That game allowed Spennacchio to tie a school record for single game assists. He has now moved into second on the Knights' career-scoring chart with 198 points.

Goalkeeper of the Week
Ben Gaebel - Cortland
So. G (Deferiet/Carthage)

Ben Gaebel, a Cortland sophomore, has been named the SUNYAC Goalkeeper of the Week. Last week he anchored the Red Dragons in their 10-5 conference win over Brockport. Gaebel tallied 11 of his 14 saves in the second half as he extended his record to 3-1. In the six games he has played this season, Gaebel has an allowed goals average of 7.94 and a .586 saves percentage.

Drew Hyatt - Cortland
Sr., A (Jamesville/Jamesville-DeWitt)

Hyatt tallied 14 points in Cortland's two wins last week to become the SUNYAC Player of the Week for the second time this season. Hyatt matched his career-high of eight assists in the Red Dragons' 12-8 victory over Oswego. He now leads his team with 51 points (23g, 28a). This is Hyatt's third season he has exceeded 50 points as he advances into tenth place on Cortland's career scoring list with 173 points (78g, 95a). Cortland has won nine games in a row and is 10-1 overall.

Goalkeeper of the Week
Mike Nolan - Oswego
Jr., (Auburn/Auburn)

Mike Nolan made 31 saves last week as the Lakers split two games losiong to Cortland 12-8 and defeating Plattsburgh 16-8. Nolan had 18 saves in the Cortland match with a .600 save percentage and stopped 13 shots with a .619 save percentage against Plattsburgh. The Lakers are now 3-8 on the season.

Geneseo's Dave Spennacchio scored six goals and added six assists as he totaled 12 points in last week's two conference wins. Spennacchio had 4 goals and 3 assists in Geneseo's 22-10 victory over Oswego and 2 goals and 3 assists in their 13-4 triumph over Plattsburgh. With 26 points from 13 goals and 13 assists, Spennacchio leads his team in offensive stats.

Goalkeeper of the Week
Bryan Scipione - Cortland
So., (East Meadow/East Meadow)

Cortland sophomore Bryan Scipione now completes a hat-trick with SUNYAC Goalkeeper of the Week honors with the third weekly award of the year. Scipione is undefeated in goal with 6 wins, a 6.9 GAA, and a 64.4 saves percentage. Last week, he anchored the Red Dragons as they handed seventh-ranked Ithaca the season's first loss (10-6) and defeated Potsdam (13-5).

Player of the Week
Scott Ferguson - Oswego
Sr., A (Floral Park/ Floral Park)

Ferguson tallied six goals and five assists to collect 11 points as the Lakers went 1-1 last week. Ferguson had three goals and two assists in a 12-8 win over Farmingdale to earn their first win of the season. He also registered three goals and three assists in a 15-7 loss to Mercyhurst, who is ranked third in the nation in Div. II. Ferguson, with 19 points on the season, is currently tied with teammate Mike Malecki as Oswego's top point man.

Player of the Week
Dan Bakke - Oneonta
Sr., A (Floral Park/ Floral Park))

Oneonta's Dan Bakke scored six goals and three assists to tally nine points as he led the Red Dragons to a 2-0 week. Bakke had three goals and two assists in Oneonta's 17-4 victory over Scranton and three goals and one assist in their 14-6 win against the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA). Bakke currently leads his team's offensive stats with 18 points on 11 goals and 7 assists. The Red Dragons are now 3-3 overall.

Goalkeeper of the Week
Bryan Scipione - Cortland
So. G (East Meadow/East Meadow)

Sophomore Bryan Scipione earns Goalkeeper of the Week honors for the second consecutive week. He made a career-high 18 saves while handing RIT its first loss of the season. In addition to the 11-4 RIT win, the Red Dragons also downed Clarkson 11-7 last week. With three college starts behind him, Scipione currently has a 3-0 record in goal with a 6.26 GAA and a 68.3 save percentage. Cortland is now 4-1 overall.

Hyatt collected 6 points last week when he scored two goals and added four assists in Cortland's 12-8 victory over fourteenth-ranked Springfield. Hyatt currently leads his team's offensive stats with 14 points from 4 goals and 10 assists. The seventh ranked Red Dragons are now 2-1 overall.

Bryan Scipione - Cortland

Sophomore Bryan Scipione earns Goalkeeper of the Week honors after making his first ever collegiate start. Scipione made 13 saves while allowing only 8 goals in the Red Dragons 12 - 8 win over fourteenth-ranked Springfield. The Red Dragons, currently 2-1, are ranked seventh in Division III.
