CORTLAND, GENESEO ADVANCE TO SUNYAC MEN’S LACROSSE FINALS

FREDONIA, NY – The Cortland Red Dragons and Geneseo Knights have advanced to the championship game of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Men’s Lacrosse tournament with victories in Wednesday’s semifinal action.

Freshman Kyle Lambert (Brentwood/Brentwood) scored seven goals and assisted on two others as Cortland, ranked fourth in Division III, defeated fourth-seeded Potsdam 15-9. The top-seeded Red Dragons will host second-seeded Geneseo in the championship game on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Geneseo, ranked 19^th in the nation, used a 7-1 first quarter advantage as they defeated
No. 3 seed Oneonta 15-8. Sophomore Chris Stock (Rochester/Penfield) scored all four of his goals in the first period to lead the Knights.

The winner of Saturday’s game will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III tournament.
