BROCKPORT SELECTED TO WIN SUNYAC MEN'S BASKETBALL TITLE
The Golden Eagles look to defend their 2001 championship

Fredonia, NY - The Brockport Golden Eagles men's basketball team has been selected to finished first in the 2001-02 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Pre-Season Coaches Poll after receiving 120 out of a possible 121 points and having 10 first-place votes. Brockport won the 2000-01 SUNYAC Championship and finished the regular season with a 13-7 conference record.

Geneseo was picked to finish second with 100 points and one first-place vote. The Knights finished eighth in the 2000-01 pre-season poll and tied Brockport for second in the regular season conference record with a record of 13-7. Geneseo lost to Brockport in the semifinals at last year's tournament.

Potsdam, just two points behind Geneseo, finished in third place in this year's pre-season poll. The Bears lost to Brockport in the quarterfinals of the SUNYAC Tournament and had a record of 10-10 last year in conference play.
