Sophomore, Forward (New Hartford/New Hartford)

Grimmer had an exceptional week, averaging 25.7 points and 5.7 rebounds in a 3-0 week for the Wildcats as they closed out the regular season. In a 78-70 victory over New Paltz, he hit 16-of-21 from the field and added nine boards. Grimmer scored 17 of his game-high 21 points in the second half to lead SUNYIT to a comeback victory over Oneonta (66-63). He also scored 21 points and added three boards and two assists as the Wildcats defeated Buffalo State 71-68. The sophomore forward is ninth in the conference in scoring and leads his team averaging 14.7 points per game. The Wildcats, seeded fourth in this year's tournament, have gone 15-5 since Grimmer joined the team in January. They look to continue their winning ways in the post season as they host fifth-seeded Brockport tomorrow for a SUNYAC Tournament Play-In game.

Medbury shot 64 percent from the field and 82 percent from the line to lead Brockport to a 3-0 conference week that included wins over Buffalo State and Potsdam, teams both atop the conference standings. In a 71-62 win over Buffalo State, he was 3-for-8 from the field and 3-for-4 from the free throw line. The senior had 29 points and four boards in an 86-81 victory over Potsdam and had 24 points in a win over Cortland (76-65) going 10-of-12 from the field. He averaged 21.3 points on the week and became the fourth leading scorer in Brockport history with 1,450 points. Medbury is fourth in the SUNYAC in scoring, averaging 18.0 points per game. In league games, he is first, averaging 20.1 points. Brockport is
13-9 overall and 8-5 in the conference heading into the last week of regular season conference play.

Senior, Forward (Attica/Attica)

Medbury averaged 26.6 points and 11.3 rebounds in a 2-1 conference week for Brockport. In a 77-81 loss to Geneseo, he contributed 19 points and nine boards. The senior forward had a season high 34 points and 15 rebounds in a 76-62 win over Fredonia and had 27 points and ten boards in a 104-60 victory over Oswego. On the week, he shot 52 percent from the field, 58 percent from behind the arc and 91 percent from the line. Medbury is second in the conference in free throw percentage (.789) and fourth in scoring, with 17.4 points per game. Brockport is 10-9,
5-5.

Randy Henderson, SUNYIT
Junior, Guard (Queens/Genesee CC)

Henderson shot 69 percent from the field and 83 percent from 3-point range to help lead SUNYIT to a 3-0 conference week. He had 14 points in a 79-59 win over Plattsburgh and 31 points in a victory over Geneseo (88-68). He was 8-of-12 from the field and 4-of-5 from 3-point range as SUNYIT downed Fredonia 85-64. The junior guard leads the conference in steals, averaging 2.56 per game and leads his team in scoring with 14.8 points per game. SUNYIT improves to 13-6, 8-3 SUNYAC.

Brandon Mills, Brockport
Junior, Center (Rochester/Spencerport)

Mills averaged 19.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, three steals and 1.3 blocks as the Golden Eagles went 2-1 on the week. He was perfect from the field in an 89-75 win over Fredonia and finished with 20 points and six boards. In a 105-90 victory over Oneonta, the junior center was 7-of-10 from the floor and 3-of-5 from the free-throw line. He had 21 points and six boards in a double overtime loss to New Paltz (82-85). Mills sent the game into overtime by making two free throws to the tie the score at 66 at the end of regulation. On the week, he shot 61.1 percent from the field and 82.3 from the free throw line. Mills ranks second in the conference in blocked shots (1.38) and fifth in free throw percentage (.767). Brockport is 8-8, 3-4 SUNYAC.

Becker averaged 20.0 points and 10.3 boards in a 3-0 conference week that included two 25-point performances. In a 68-56 victory over Cortland, he shot 10-of-14 from the field and was 5-of-8 from
3-point range. The junior forward recorded a double-double in an 82-72 win over SUNYIT scoring 10 points and adding 13 rebounds. He led all scorers with 25 points in a win against Oswego (88-63), shooting 80.0 percent from the floor and grabbing nine boards. Becker is second in the league in scoring with an 18.5 points average and fifth in field goal percentage (.557). The Bengals improve to 11-4, 6-1.

Leonardo Leon, SUNYIT
Junior, Guard (West Manhattan/Genesee CC)

Leon came off the bench to spark the Wildcats in victories over Oneonta (75-62) and Cazenovia (78-62) last week. The Wildcats also defeated Cortland 68-67 in overtime to go 3-0 on the week. The 5-11 junior guard had 13 points, two assists and four steals in the win over Oneonta. He added another nine points, four boards, five assists and two steals against Cazenovia. Leon's efforts have contributed to SUNYIT's six-game win streak. Leon ranks eighth in the conference in steals averaging 1.75 per game in all games played. SUNYIT is 8-4, 4-1.

Junior, Forward (Hamburg/Frontier)
Becker averaged 18.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.5 blocks on his way to earning MVP honors at the Buffalo State Holiday Inn Invitational this past weekend. The host Bengals won the championship with wins over Hilbert (79-61) and D'Youville (84-66). On the week, Becker shot .636 percent from the field and .429 percent from 3-point range. The 6-3 junior forward ranks second in the conference in scoring (18.2), sixth in rebounding (7.4), ninth in field goal percentage (.539) and third in steals (2.20). He also ranks in the top ten in assists with 2.8 per game. Buffalo State is 7-3, 2-0.

Senior, Forward (Alden/Alden)

Skoczylas averaged 14.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals as the Brockport Golden Eagles claimed the title at the LeMoyne Holiday Tournament, featuring Division II schools. Brockport defeated C.W. Post 65-64 in the first round and host LeMoyne 77-72 in the finals. The senior forward was named tournament MVP. Skoczylas averages 9.3 PPG and 4.6 RPG. Brockport is 4-3, 1-2.

O'Steen was 8-for-18 from the floor and shot 50 percent from behind the arc in a 90-73 victory over Hilbert, the Lakers only game last week. The senior guard leads the team and conference in scoring with 22.5 points per game. He also ranks tenth in the conference in free throw percentage (.735) and second in 3-point field goals made (3.00/game). Oswego enters the holiday break a perfect 3-0 in conference play and 5-1 overall.

Sophomore, Forward (Syracuse/Solvay)
Ponza shot 52.2% from the floor in a 3-0 week for the Lakers. He scored 27 points while shooting 11-for-24 from the floor in a 74-71 win over Geneseo. He recorded a double-double against Cortland going 5-for-9 with 12 points and 10 boards. The Lakers also posted a win over SUNYIT (74-66) in which he scored 18 points and grabbed five rebounds. For the week, the sophomore forward averaged 19.0 points and 7.3 rebounds. Ponza is second on the team and seventh in the conference in overall scoring with 16.4 ppg. Oswego is 4-1, 3-0.

Freshman, Forward/Center (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview)
Charlton scored 13 points while shooting 5-for-7 from the field in an 82-73 win at Geneseo last week. He also grabbed seven boards and handed out three assists. The freshman is averaging 15.0 points and 9.7 rebounds for the season, placing him eighth and second in the conference in each category, respectively. Fredonia is 1-2, 1-0.

November 25, 2002

Junior, Guard (Albany/Bishop-Maginn)

Troyer averaged 26.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in the first two games of the Red Dragons season, as they hosted the Holiday Inn Tip Off Classic this past weekend. In the first game, he led all Red Dragons with 30 points and seven rebounds in a losing effort as Oneonta lost to Hartwick 96-93 in overtime. In the consolation game, the junior guard was 9-of-12 shooting from the floor and pulled down four boards in a 79-63 win over SUNY Purchase. For the two games, Troyer shot 52.5 percent from the field.
