Week #10 - February 20 Track Athlete of the Week Tony Gallo, Sr. (Harpursville, NY/Harpursville)
Gallo captured the 800-meter win a time of 1:58.58, the 1,000-meter in a time of 2:36.22, established an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 3:55.01 in the 1,500-meter and ran a leg of the winning 4x800 relay. State University College at Geneseo earned second straight SUNYAC Indoor Track and Field Championships at Hobart College in Geneva, NY. NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) Competing in Cornell University's Robert J. Kane Invitational, senior Mark Mirabito captured the high jump, clearing a height of 7'0 _ to automatically qualify for the Division III NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. Cianfarano, Fr. - (Hannibal, NY/Hannibal) Cianfarano captured two individual events with school record breaking performances and anchored the winning 4x200-meter relay in another school record to lead State University College at oswego to a third place finish in the St. Lawrence University Indoor Classic. Cianfarano won the triple jump with a leap of 34'11" and the 200-meter in 27.16. Week #6 January 23, 2002 Men's Track Athlete of the Week Jason Manenkoff, So. (North
Rockland, NY/North Rockland) Winning the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.70 and finishing third in the 55-mter dash with a time of 6.5, Manenkoff led State University College at Cortland to a strong performance at a meet at West Point. The meet featured five teams, including three Division I schools, U.S. Military Academy, Monmouth University, and Lafayette College. The sophomore from North Rockland, NY also finished third in the long jump with a leap of 21'3 _ on the day.
