The State University of New York Athletic Conference named the indoor track and field athletes of the week for the week ending February 11, 2007.

On the women's side, Plattsburgh junior Toni Wiszowaty (Shirley, NY/William Floyd) was selected as the track athlete of the week and Cortland sophomore Sarah Kimball (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) earned field athlete of the week honors.

At the Boston University Valentine's Invitational, Wiszowaty finished fourth of 60 runners in the 5,000 meter run with a school record and NCAA automatic qualifying time of 16:52.81.

Kimball shattered her own school record in the pole vault with an NCAA provisional height of 3.50 meters at the Cornell University Kane Invitational.

For the men, Oneonta sophomore Eric Theiss (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga) claims the track athlete of the week award and Buffalo State junior Joe Wooley (Amherst, NY/Sweet Home) takes the field athlete of the week honors.

Theiss posted the top time in the SUNYAC this season in the 200 meters with a 12th place time of 22.24, ran a 25th place time of 49.13 in the 400 meters and ran the 400 leg in the NCAA provisional qualifying Distance Medley Relay at the Boston University Valentine's Invitational.

At Baldwin-Wallace, Wooley place first in both the long jump (6.37 meters) and the triple jump (13.57 meters).

February 5
The State University of New York Athletic Conference named the indoor track and field athletes of the week for the week ending February 4, 2007.

On the women's side, Plattsburgh senior Samantha Paul (Setauket, NY/Ward Melville) was selected as the track athlete of the week and Buffalo State junior Jenelle Orosz (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) earned field athlete of the week honors.

At the Dartmouth Indoor Classic, Paul won the 400 meter dash in a school record and NCAA provisional qualifying time of 57.86 seconds.

Orosz won the high jump at the Case Western Invitational and then captured the event at the Mt. Union Invitational the next day with a school record and NCAA provisional qualifying height of 1.67 meters.

For the men, Cortland senior C. Fred Joslyn (Chenango Forks, NY/Chenango Forks) claims the track athlete of the week award and Geneseo senior Joe Goodspeed (Broadalbin, NY/Broadalbin-Perth) takes the field athlete of the week honors.

Joslyn finished fourth in the 5,000 meters at the prestigious New Balance Collegiate Invitational at the New York City Armory in an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 14:35.24. The New Balance meet is primarily a Division I Invitational, with Joslyn finishing ahead of 11 of those runners.

At the New Balance meet, Goodspeed was second in the high jump at 2.06 meters and finished 11th in the triple jump with an NCAA provisional qualifying performance of 14.04 meters. Goodspeed has now provisionally qualified for the nationals in the long, triple and high jumps.

January 29
The State University of New York Athletic Conference named the indoor track and field athletes of the week for the week ending January 28, 2007.

On the women's side, Brockport senior Teri Wilson (Lockport, NY/Lockport) was selected as the track athlete of the week and Fredonia sophomore Julia Hopson earned field athlete of the week honors.

At the St. Lawrence Indoor Invitational, Wilson won the 3,000 meters in a school record time of 10:17.41, breaking the former mark by 16 seconds, and ran a 62 second leg on the fourth place 4X400 meter relay.

Hopson won a pair of events at Case Western Reserve, tossing the 20 pound weight a distance of 15.16 meters and throwing the shot a personal best 12.05 meters.

For the men, Cortland junior Amaan Siddeeq (Goshen, NY/Goshen) claims the track athlete of the week award and Brockport sophomore Nick Stanisavljevic takes the field athlete of the week honors.

Siddeeq won the 55-meter dash at the Colgate Class of '32 Invitational with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 6.40 in the preliminaries and a finals time of 6.47.

Stanisavljevic won three events at St. Lawrence, qualifying automatically for the NCAA championships in the high jump with a school record height of 2.10 meters, qualifying provisionally in the triple jump with a leap of 14.00 meters and taking the long jump with a distance of 6.50 meters.

January 22
The State University of New York Athletic Conference named the indoor track and field athletes of the week for the week ending January 21, 2007. SUNY Brockport was represented by two of the four winners.

On the women's side, Oneonta senior Maureen Verdier (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) was selected as the track athlete of the week and Brockport junior Tara Phouthavogsa (Brockport, NY/Brockport) earned field athlete of the week honors.

At the St. Lawrence Indoor Classic, Verdier won the 55-meter dash in 7.47 seconds, the 55-meter hurdles in 8.94 seconds, the 200-meter dash in 27.17 seconds and ran the lead leg in the winning 4X200-meter relay.

Phouthavogsa won a pair of events at the RIT Invitational by flying 5.32 meters in the long jump and leaping 1.60 meters in the high jump.

For the men, Fredonia junior Brett Csont (Dunkirk, NY/Dunkirk) claims the track athlete of the week award and Brockport senior Jake Basher (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) takes the field athlete of the week honors.

Csont won a pair of events at the Mary Phillips Invitational by racing to a 6.75 second time in the 55 meters and a 24.17 second time in the 200 meters. At the RIT Invitational, Basher placed first in the weight throw with an NCAA provisional qualifying toss of 16.70 meters.

January 15
The State University of New York Athletic Conference named the indoor track and field athletes of the week for the week ending January 14, 2007 as SUNY Geneseo swept the four weekly honors.

On the women's side, sophomore Liz Montgomery (Glenville, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) was selected as the track athlete of the week and first year Kristin Shumway (Potsdam, NY/Potsdam) earned field athlete of the week honors.

At the St. Lawrence Open, Montgomery ran an NCAA Division III season-best and NCAA Automatic Qualifying time of 16:57.64 in the 5,000 meters, while Shumway placed second in the triple jump (10.34 meters) and second in the high jump (1.57 meters).

For the men, senior Ross Hunkovic (Endwell, NY/Maine-Endwell) claims the track athlete of the week award and senior Joe Goodspeed (Broadalpin, NY/Broadalpin-Perth) takes the field athlete of the week honors.

Hunkovic broke his own Newell Fieldhouse record in the mile run at St. Lawrence with a winning time of 4:21.81, while Goodspeed won the long jump (6.64 meters) and was second in the high jump (1.87 meters).

December 10
The State University of New York Athletic Conference named the indoor track and field athletes of the week for the week ending, December 10, 2006.

On the men's side, Oneonta St. swept the awards as sophomore sprinter Eric Theiss (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga) was selected as the track athlete of the week and senior teammate Adam Remillard (Oneonta,NY/Oneonta) earned field athlete of the week honors.

At the St. Lawrence Holiday meet, Theiss finished first in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.64 seconds and was second in the 400 meters with a time of 49.77. Remillard won the long jump with a leap of 6.62 meters and captured the triple jump with a distance of 13.31 meters at St. Lawrence.

For the women, SUNY Brockport sophomore Shannon O'Keefe (Boston, NY/Springville-Griffith) claims the track athlete of the week award and freshman teammate Kerri Boyle (Batavia, NY/Oakfield-Alabama) takes the field athlete of the week honors.

O'Keefe won the 400 meter dash at the St. Lawrence Holiday meet with a time of 1:01.95 and was second in the triple jump. Boyle won the long jump with a distance of 16 feet, 11 1/4 inches, captured the high jump with a height of five feet, 1 3/4 inches and was second in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.04 seconds.

December 3
The State University of New York Athletic Conference named the first indoor track and field athletes of the week for the 2006-07 season.

On the men's side, SUNY Cortland swept the awards as junior sprinter Amaan Siddeeq (Goshen, NY/Goshen) was selected as the track athlete of the week and sophomore teammate Jake Zanetti (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs) earned field athlete of the week honors.

At the Cornell Relays, Siddeeq finished second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.86 seconds and qualified provisionally for the NCAAs in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.82 seconds in a preliminary heat. Zanetti won the pole vault at Cornell with a school record tying and NCAA Division III provisional height of 4.80 meters.

For the women, SUNY Brockport senior Teri Wilson (Lockport, NY/Lockport) claims the track athlete of the week award and junior teammate Tara Phouthavongsa (Brockport, NY/Brockport) takes the field athlete of the week honors.

Wilson won the 5,000 meter run at the Cornell Relays with a time of 18:10.25. Phouthavongsa qualified provisionally for the NCAA Division III meet by placing third in the high jump with a leap of 1.65 meters.
