The State University of New York Athletic Conference announced the Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 12, 2006. Oneonta's Musu Jackson-Buckner (Buffalo, NY/Buffalo Seminary) highlights the honorees as the women's track athlete and is joined by Geneseo's Mary Kosloski (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East) as the women's field winner, Cortland's Fred Joslyn (Chenango Forks, NY/Chenango Forks) for men's track and Oswego's Shomari Felder (Syracuse, NY/Fowler) for men's field.
At the Boston University Invitational on Friday, Jackson-Buckner, a senior, finished ninth in the 55 meter dash in an NCAA provisional time of 7.25 seconds, sixth in the 200 meter dash in a school record time of 24.63 seconds and paced the 4X400 relay to an NCAA automatic qualifying and
school record time of 3:53.56. On Saturday, Jackson-Buckner travelled across town to the MIT Invitational, where she posted a second place, NCAA provisional and school record distance of 11.38 meters in the triple jump in her first competitive venture in the event and added a school record
performance of 5.07 meters in the long jump.
Kosloski, a senior, wins the weekly award for the second time after capturing the triple jump at the Robert Kane Invitational at Cornell with an NCAA provisional leap of 11.57 meters and a third place posting in the high jump with a height of 1.60 meters.
A junior, Joslyn wins the award for the first time after running a SUNYAC all-time best 14:29.67 in finishing ninth in the 5000 meters at the Boston University Invitational, qualifying automatically for the NCAAs. In addition, he helped the Red Dragon Distance Medley Relay to a fourth place and NCAA provisional time of 10:11.08.
Felder, a sophomore, wins the field award for the first time this season after winning the high jump at the Robert Kane Invitational with an NCAA provisional height of 2.01 meters.

February 6, 2006
The State University of New York Athletic Conference announced the SUNYAC Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 5, 2006. SUNY Geneseo's Marta Scott (South Wales, NY/East Aurora) for women's track, Plattsburgh's Matt DeShane (Norwood/Norwood-Norfolk) for men's track and Cortland's Jake Zanetti (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs) for men's field competed in three different Division I Invitationals to earn the weekly honors, along with Fredonia's Liz Schaller (Marilla, NY/St. Mary's) capturing the award for women's field.
Scott, a senior, raced to an eighth place finish in the mile run in a SUNYAC and NYSCTC season-best time of 5:00.59 and anchored the 13th place distance medley relay (12:11.21) at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational at the New York City Armory.
Senior DeShane ran to a school record and SUNYAC season best time of 2:29.30 in placing second in the 1000 meter run at the Dartmouth Invitational.
Zanetti, a freshman, set a Cortland school record in the heptathalon with a score of 4,277 points at the Syracuse Invitational, including an NCAA provisional height of 4.65 meters in the pole vault.
For Schaller, the senior won the long (5.17 meters) and triple (10.96 meters) jumps, along with the 200 meter dash (27.54) during Fredonia's Mary Phillips Invitational. Her triple jump distance is the third best in Fredonia St. history.

January 30, 2006
The State University of New York Athletic Conference has named its Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the week ending, January 29, 2006. A trio of student-athletes who competed at the Colgate Class of '32 Invitational earned the weekly honors in SUNY Cortland's Andrew Cloke (Corning, NY/Notre Dame) for track and Marcus Matyas (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) for field, along with Ashlee Robertson (Mechanicville, NY/Shenendehowa) of Oneonta for track. Fredonia's Julia Hopson (Poughkeepsie, NY/Arlington) is the women's field winner.
A junior, Cloke broke a 21-year old school record in winning the 3,000 meters in a time of 8:30.23 and led off the 3200 relay team as the Red Dragons placed first in the 10-team meet. Matyas, a senior, was named the Men's Athlete of the Meet after winning the weight throw (15.24 meters) and the shot put (15.12 meters).
On the women's side, Robertson, a graduate student, was named the Women's Athlete of the Meet after winning the 55 meter dash in an NCAA provisional time of 7.32 seconds and the 200 meter dash in a time of 25.88. A freshman, Hopson won the weight throw (13.02 meters) and the shot put (11.27 meters) at the Case Western Reserve Spartan Relays.

January 23, 2006
The State University of New York Athletic Conference has named its Track and Field Players of the Week for the week ending, January 22, 2006. SUNY Brockport junior Andrea Vitello (Amherst, NY/Sweet Home) claimed the women's track honor and freshman teammate Nicole Sosnoski (Elmira, NY/Elmira Southside) earned the women's field honor. On the men's side, Cortland sophomore Amaan Siddeeq (New Hampton, NY/Goshen) takes the track honor and Plattsburgh junior John Daly (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown) wins the field award.
Vitello finished second in both the 55 meter dash (7.68 seconds) and the 200 meter dash (27.61), along with pacing the 800 relay to a third place finish at the RIT Invitational on Saturday. Sosnoski, who has already qualified for the NCAAs in the triple jump, won the event with a leap of 11.00 meters and was second in the long jump with a distance of 5.30 meters.
For the men, Siddeeq won the 55 meter dash at the St. Lawrence Indoor Classic with an NCAA provisional time of 6.46 seconds and led off Cortland's winning 800 meter relay. Daly scored 24 points at the Tufts Invitational by placing second in the high jump (1.88 m), second in the long jump (6.43 m) and second in the 55 meter hurdles (8.10 seconds).

January 16, 2006
The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced its men's and women's track and field players of the week ending January 15, 2006.
Plattsburgh junior Mike Bauer (Aurora, NY/Aurora) and Cortland freshman Tynez Wilson (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) have been named the SUNYAC Men's Track and Field Players of the Week, with the women's awards going to Plattsburgh's Allison Busby (Vestal, NY/Seton Catholic) and Mary Kosloski (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East) of Geneseo.
Bauer was awarded the track performer of the week after finishing first in the 500 meters in a time of 1:07.69 and leading the 1600 meter relay to a first place time of 3:27.28 at the St. Lawrence Open on Saturday. Wilson provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III championships to win the field performer of the week when he finished second in the long jump with a leap of 22' 10.5" at the Penn State Relays.
Busby smashed a Plattsburgh school record and posted the fastest time in Division III this season when she galloped to a first place finish in an NCAA provisional time of 17:19.53 at the St. Lawrence Open on Saturday to take the track performer honor. Kosloski qualified for the ECAC meet by winning the high jump with a height of 1.60 meters at St. Lawrence on Saturday and finished second in the triple jump with a leap of 10.48 meters, a NYSCTC meet qualifier.

January 9, 2006
The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced its men's and women's track and field players of the week ending January 8, 2006.
Geneseo senior Matt Kuenzel (Saratoga/Saratoga Springs) has been selected as the men's field performer of the week. There were no nominees for the men's track performer and the women's track and field performer.
Kuenzel won the shot put at the Cornell University Open with a toss of 15.22 meters and placed second in the weight throw with a toss of 13.78 meters.

December 12, 2005
The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced its men's and women's track and field players of the week ending December 11, 2005. Fredonia junior Nick Lord (Skaneateles, NY/Skaneateles) has been selected as the men's field performer of the week and is joined in the weekly honors by a trio of Oneonta Red Dragons. Freshman Joe Reed (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) is the men's track honoree, freshman Lauren Christian (Bethlehem,
PA/Liberty) is the women's field performer and graduate student Ashlee Robertson (Mechanicville, NY/Shenendehowa) wins the women's track award for the second week in a row.
Lord qualified for the SUNYAC and NYSCTC championships in the weight throw with a toss of 46 feet, 10.25 inches and tossed a SUNYAC qualifying distance of 39 feet, four inches in the shot put. Reed won a pair of events at the Saints Holiday Relays as he set a new school record in the 55 meter dash with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 6.46 and aided the 4X200 relay to an ECAC qualifying time of 1:35.33.
Robertson earned her second straight award by winning the 55 meter dash in 7.40 seconds, winning the 400 meters in an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 58.26 seconds and helping the 4X200 relay to an ECAC qualifying time of 1:49.26. Christian set an Oneonta school mark in winning the pole vault with a height of 9 feet, 5.75 inches.

December 5, 2005
The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced its men's and women's track and field players of the week ending December 4.
Oneonta St. senior Scott Pollard (Spring Valley, NY/Ramapo) has been selected as the men's track performer, Oneonta St. graduate student Ashlee Robertson (Mechanicville, NY/Shenendehowa) is the women's track performer and Cortland's Marcus Matyas (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) is the men's field performer of the week. There were no nominees for women's field performer.
Pollard won the 300 meter dash in a school and SUNYAC record time of 34.97 at the Cornell Relays on Saturday. In the same meet, Robertson set a new school and SUNYAC record time with a third place finish in the 300 meters in a time of 41.09 and was seventh in the 60 meter dash (7.99).
Matyas claimed a fourth place in the shot put with a toss of 48 feet, 0.75 inches and a fifth place in the weight throw with a distance of 49 feet, 0.25 inches in qualifying for the ECAC Championships in both events.
