Men's Track Athlete of the Week
Nick Wetherby, Fr. (Olean/Olean)
Cortland
Wetherby won three titles at the 2004 SUNYAC Indoor Championships
on Saturday, helping lead the Red Dragons to their first team crown
since 1999 and fourth overall. Wetherby won the 55-meter dash in an
NCAA provisional qualifying time of 6.48 seconds. He also won the
200-meter dash in a meet-record 22.18 seconds, just 0.01 seconds off
the school record. He ran the opening leg on Cortland's winning 4x400-meter
relay team, which clocked an ECAC qualifying time of 3:26.10.

Men's Track Co-Athlete of the Week
Troy Anderson, Jr. (Caledonia/Caledonia-Mumford)
Brockport
Anderson broke a 25-year old school record by running 7.17 seconds
in the 60-meter dash at Cornell University on Saturday. The previous
record was held by Edgar Parsons. Anderson also broke the school record
in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.38, breaking Courtlan Green's
record. Anderson has set three school records in his first two collegiate
track & field meets.

Nick Wetherby, Fr. (Olean/Olean)
Cortland
Running his first-ever indoor 200-meter dash (he did not run the
event in high school), Wetherby finished first among 41 entries at
the Army Open with an ECAC qualifying time of 22.65 seconds. He also
finished first in the 60-meter dash out of 33 entries with a time
of 7.12 seconds.

Men's Track Athlete of the Week
Jon Frechette, Sr. (Oswego, NY/Oswego HS)
Cortland
Although competing against primarily Division I athletes, Frechette
finished first in the 60-meter hurdles at the Cornell Relays on Saturday,
Dec. 6 with a school-record time of 8.33 seconds. When converted to
a 55-meter hurdle time, it matches a Cortland all-time record. Frechette
qualifies for the ECAC Division III Championships with his time.
