SUNYAC Announces Men and Women's Indoor Track Coaches of the Year
FREDONIA, NY - Geneseo's Mike Woods and Cortland's John Crawford
have been named the 2004 State University of New York Athletic Conference
(SUNYAC) Men and Women's Indoor Track and Field Coaches of the Year. The awards
are voted on by the conference coaches and given out annually at the conclusion
of the championships.
Woods has been named Women's Track and Field Coach of the Year for the second
straight year after guiding the Knights to their second consecutive conference
championship. Geneseo rolled to this year's crown by a 203-131 margin over
second-place Cortland. Woods coached seven of his athletes to individual titles
at this year's championships, two of which were multiple-event winners.
Crawford is the Men's Coach of the Year after leading his Red Dragons to the
team championship after finishing second in each of the last three years.
Crawford's squad finished with 176 points, 18 better than second-place and
three-time defending champion Geneseo. Crawford's athletes placed first in
seven individual events with four exceeding NCAA provisional qualifying standards.
