Plattsburgh Picked to Win SUNYAC Ice Hockey Championship
The defending Division III Ice Hockey champions look to capture their sixth straight conference title

SUNY Plattsburgh, the defending Division III Ice Hockey Champions, is a unanimous selection to defend their 2001 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) title. The Cardinals have won the past five conference championships and are seeking to capture their eighth in 11 years under Coach Bob Emery. Plattsburgh finished the 2000-01 regular season with a 13-1-0 conference record and captured their fifth consecutive SUNYAC Ice Hockey Championship.

Finishing second with 43 points in this year's pre-season poll is Oswego. The Lakers finished the regular season in second place with a 10-4-0 SUNYAC record. Potsdam is ranked third in this years pre-season poll and finished the 2000-01 regular season in third place with an 8-3-3 record. Plattsburgh defeated Potsdam two games to one to win the 2001 SUNYAC crown. After placing fourth in conference play last year with a 7-5-2 record, Fredonia was picked to finish fourth in the 2001-02 coaches poll.
