Potsdam sophomore Ryan McCarthy (Brampton, ONT) has been selected by the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) as the player of the week for the week ending February 13.
Plattsburgh State freshman Rick Janco (Mississaugua, ONT) and Oswego freshman goalie Ryan Scott (Williamsville, NY) have been selected as the conference rookie of the week and goalie of the week, respectively.
McCarthy won the SUNYAC regular season scoring title with a six-point weekend. He netted two goals and two assists in a 7-3 victory over Brockport on Friday and then tallied a goal and an assist in a 4-4 tie with Geneseo. He finishes the regular season with 14 goals and 13 assists in conference games. He was the top conference goal scorer and finished fourth in assists.
Janco, a mid-season transfer from St. Lawrence University, helped Plattsburgh State to a fourth place finish and home ice advantage in the first round of the SUNYAC playoffs with solid defensive play and three assists over the weekend. He assisted on the first goal each game as Plattsburgh defeated Geneseo, 2-1, and Brockport, 7-5.
Oswego's Scott earns goalie of the week honors as he earned a shutout in a 4-0 win over Fredonia and made 25 saves in a 5-3 win against Buffalo State. He finished with 55 saves over the weekend as the Lakers clinched the top spot in the SUNYAC playoffs. He also finished the regular season as the top conference in goals against average (2.51) and save percentage (.920) in SUNYAC games.

February 7, 2005
Potsdam sophomore forward Ryan McCarthy (Brampton, ONT) has been selected by the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) as the player of the week for the week ending February 6.
Fellow Bear forward, Pat Lemay (Orleans, ONT) has been selected as the SUNYAC Rookie of the Week. Geneseo senior Brett Walker (Regina, SASK) was tabbed as the goalie of the week.
McCarthy was involved in nine of the 11 Potsdam goals over the weekend as the Bears defeated Buffalo State 5-3 and tied Fredonia, 6-6, to move from sixth place in the conference standings to fourth with one weekend left to play. He scored four goals in the win over Buffalo State and then added a goal and four assists in the tie with the Blue Devils.
Lemay scored six points on the weekend with four assists on Friday and two goals on Saturday against Fredonia.
Walker led Geneseo to a 2-0 weekend with his 10th and 11th victories on the year and also improved to 10-0-0 in conference games. He registered 50 saves and allowed just two goals in victories over Cortland and Oswego.

January 31, 2005
Oswego junior Jocelyn Dubord (LaChenaie, QUE) has been selected by the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) as the player of the week for the week ending January 30.
Brockport freshman Gord Pritchard (Yorktown, SASK) earns the rookie of the week honors and goalie Andy Reynolds (Vicksburg, MI), also from Brockport, picks up the conference goalie of the week award.
Dubord scored three times for Oswego over the weekend as the Lakers handed Potsdam and Plattsburgh losses. He scored two goals in the 5-2 victory over the Bears and added a goal in a 3-2 win over the Cardinals. His goal against Plattsburgh tied the game at 2-2 midway through the third period.
Pritchard scored a goal in each game over the weekend for the Golden Eagles. He netted a third period goal in a 4-3 victory over Buffalo State and then scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in the 4-0 win over Fredonia.
Reynolds, a senior, led the Golden Eagles to a two-win weekend which included a 4-0 shutout victory over Fredonia. It was the first Brockport shutout in SUNYAC play since 1997. Reynolds stopped 43 shots in the victory and turned away 26 shots in a 4-3 win over Buffalo State on Friday night.

January 24, 2005
Buffalo State junior Sean Burke (Barrie, ONT) has been selected by the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) as the player of the week for the week ending January 23.
Oswego freshman goalie Ryan Scott (Williamsville, NY) earns the rookie of the week award and fellow net minder, Brett Walker (Regina, SASK), from Geneseo, earns the goalie of the week honors.
Burke was involved in both Bengal goals in a 4-2 loss to #14 Hobart as he scored a goal and added an assist. He followed that up with another goal and assist in a 4-4 tie with #6 Fredonia on Friday night.
Scott continues to lead Oswego and led the Lakers to a pair of wins last week. He made 15 saves to earn his second shutout of the season in a 4-0 win over Hamilton and then turned away 31 shots as Oswego skated to a 6-2 victory over Cortland. He stopped 46-of-48 shots over the two games.
Geneseo's Walker improved his record to 7-2 with victories over Elmira (5-1) and Brockport (4-3 OT). He had 38 saves in the Elmira win and stopped 26 shots in the victory over the Golden Eagles.

January 17, 2005
Fredonia sophomore forward Matt Zeman (Rocky River, OH) and Brockport senior Mark Digby (Fulton, NY) have been selected by the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) as the co-players of the week for the week ending January 16.
Oswego freshman goalie Ryan Scott (Williamsville, NY) earns rookie of the week honors while fellow net-minder, Andy Reynolds (Vicksburg, MI) from Brockport picks up the conference goalie of the week award.
Zeman led the Devils to impressive victories over the weekend with two goals and one assist in each victory. Fredonia beat RIT 5-3 and Utica 4-3. Both goals against RIT were short-handed and his second goal against Utica came with eight seconds left in regulation to force overtime where Fredonia eventually won.
Digby scored the only goal for Brockport in a 2-1 loss to #2 Manhattanville on Friday night and added a goal and an assist in a 3-2 victory over Elmira the following night. The victory over Elmira was the first for the Golden Eagles since the 1975-76 season.
Scott stopped 34-of-36 shots as the Lakers beat #8 RIT in Rochester. Both goals for RIT came on power play situations. Scott improved to 4-2-1.
Reynolds led Brockport to impressive showings over the weekend. The senior made 32 saves in the 2-1 loss to Manhattanville and then turned away 34 shots in the 3-2 victory over Elmira.

January 10, 2005
Plattsburgh State sophomore forward Ryan Busby (Georgetown, ONT) has been selected by the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) as the player of the week for the week ending January 9.
Oswego sophomore goalie Brett Leonhardt (Waterloo, ONT) and Geneseo freshman Mat Cyr (New Maryland, NB) have been selected as the conference goalie of the week and rookie of the week, respectively.
Busby helped Plattsburgh to a pair of victories over ranked opponents during the week with a goal and an assist in a 4-3 victory over Norwich and two assists in a 5-4 win at RIT.
Leonhardt turned away 40 shots as Oswego skated to a 2-2 tie at #12 Curry on Saturday. The tie improved Leonhardt's record to 7-0-2 on the season.
Cyr scored one goal and added two assists as Geneseo lost to Wentworth, 4-3 and tied Johnson & Wales, 4-4.

January 3, 2005
Plattsburgh State junior forward Dave Friel (Mississauga, ONT) has been selected by the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) as the player of the week for the week ending January 2, 2005.
Fellow Cardinal forward, T.J. Cooper (Hamburg, NY) has been selected as the SUNYAC Rookie of the Week. No goaltender was nominated for goalie of the week honors.
Friel led the Cardinals to the championship game of the Cardinal Classic Tournament with an overtime goal in the 4-3 victory over Connecticut College. He followed that up with the only Plattsburgh goal of the game in a 2-1 loss to Utica College in the championship game. He was selected to the All-Tournament team.
Cooper also had a solid weekend with a goal in the victory over Connecticut College that started a comeback from a 3-1 deficit.

December 13, 2004
Fredonia sophomore forward Matt Zeman (Rocky River, Ohio) has been selected by the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) as the player of the week for the week ending December 12.
Oswego freshman goalie Ryan Scott (Williamsville, NY) earns both the goalie of the week and rookie of the week honors.
Zeman continues to lead the Devils as Fredonia won a pair of games over Neumann over the weekend. The sophomore led the Devils in a come-from-behind victory in the first of two games with the game-tying goal in the third period and later assisted on the game-winner in a 3-2 win. He added an assist in the 3-1 Fredonia victory the following night.
Scott put forth a solid effort with 31 saves, including 22 in the final two periods, in a 5-3 victory over Hobart College. Scott, and the Lakers, held Hobart to 0-of-8 on power play attempts.

December 6, 2004
Geneseo senior forward Jason Kuczmanski (Cheektowaga, NY) has been selected by the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) as the player of the week for the week ending December 5.
The Fredonia duo of freshman forward Chad Berman (Grand Rapids, MI) and junior goalie Rick Cazares (San Jose, CA) have been selected as the conference rookie of the week and goalie of the week, respectively.
Kuczmanski led the Knights to victories over Plattsburgh and Potsdam over the weekend. He scored a goal and added an assist in a 3-2 victory over Plattsburgh on Friday night and added a hat trick and two assists in a 9-6 win over Potsdam the following evening. Against Plattsburgh, he assisted on the first goal of the game and scored the game-winner early in the third period.
Berman and Cazares helped the Blue Devils to a two-win weekend as Fredonia remains undefeated (7-0-0) in SUNYAC play. Berman scored twice and added an assist as he was involved in all three goals of a 3-2 victory over Oswego on Friday. He added two assists in the 7-3 win Saturday over Cortland.
Cazares started both games and made a combined 42 saves. He registered a 2.29 GAA and .912 save percentage over the weekend. It is the third time in seven weeks that Cazares has won the conference award.

November 29, 2004
Oswego senior forward Don Patrick (Fulton, NY/G.Ray Bodley) has been seleceted by the State University of NewYork Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) as the player of the week for the week ending November 28, 2004.
The Potsdam duo of freshman goalie Rob Barnhardt (Fort Erie, Ontario) and freshman defenseman Ben King (Sidney, BC) have been selected as the conference goalie of the week and rookie of the week, respectively.
Patrick led the Lakers to victories over New England College and Williams College over the weekend. He scored a powerplay goal in the 2-0 victory over NEC and then notched three assists in the 7-0 win over Williams. He currently leads Oswego with eight goals and 13 assists.
Barnhardt led the Bears to a third place finish in the PrimeLink Great Northern Shootout at Middlebury over the weekend. He made 39 stops as Potsdam forced No.2 Norwich into overtime before falling 4-3. He followed that up with a 3-2 victory over Plattsburgh State in the consolation game. He was named to the All-Tournament Team.
King scored the first two goals of the game against Plattsburgh State in the consolation game of the PrimeLink Great Northern Shootout. He scored a powerplay goal in each of the first two periods to pace the Bear offense. For the season, he now has three goals and two assists.

November 22, 2004
For the second time this season, Brockport senior forward Mark Digby (Fulton, NY) has been selected by the State University of NewYork Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) as the player of the week for the week ending November 21, 2004.
Oswego senior goalie Brett Leonhardt (Waterloo, ONT) has been selected as the conference goalie of the week and Fredonia freshman Mike Smietana (Buffalo, NY/Kenmore East) was tabbed the SUNYAC rookie of the week.
Digby scored a hat trick in a 4-3 loss to Geneseo on Friday night and added a goal in a 3-2 loss to Hobart the following night. With 11 goals this season, Digby leads the country in goals scored.
Leonhardt improved to 5-0-1 on the season with a 23-save effort in a 7-2 victory over Cortland in the only game of the weekend for the Lakers.
Smietana assisted on the game-tying goal midway through the third period and then scored the game-winner with under four minutes to play as Fredonia came from behind to defeat Buffalo State 4-3. The goal was the first of his career.

November 15, 2004
Sophomore forward Mike MacDonald and freshman defenseman Steve Sankey both from Geneseo have been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week for the week ending Nov. 14.
For the second consecutive week, Fredonia junior Rick Cazares (San Jose, CA/Glenbrook North HS) has been selected as the SUNYAC Goalie of the Week.
MacDonald (New Glasgow, NS/Kent School) led the Blue Knights to a pair of victories with two goals in an 8-1 win over Cortland and then scored three goals and added two assists in a 7-6 victory over Oswego.
He scored the game-tying goal with 1:28 left to play against Oswego and then netted the game-winner to complete his hat trick with 0:20 seconds left in the game. He currently leads Geneseo with seven goals and five assists.
Sankey (North Vancouver, BC/Merritt Continentals) scored three points for the Blue Knights in the 8-1 win over Cortland. He scored twice and added an assist from his defensive position.
Cazares ran his record to 4-1-1 with victories over Plattsburgh State and Potsdam over the weekend. The junior stopped 52 of 55 shots and put together a scoreless stretch of 107 minutes and 14 seconds from the 10:41 mark of the first period on Friday until 2:05 left in the victory over Potsdam. During that time the Blue Devils outscored their opponents, 9-0.

November 8, 2004
Buffalo State sophomore forward Mike DeMarco (Niagara Falls, NY) has been selected by the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) as the player of the week for the week ending November 8, 2004.
Fredonia junior goalie Rick Cazares (San Jose, CA) has been selected as the conference goalie of the week and Fredonia sophomore Scott Bradley (Bellville, ONT) was tabbed the SUNYAC rookie of the week.
DeMarco had a hand in all four goals (two goals and two assists) in a 4-4 tie with Brockport State on Friday night and scored two additional goals in a 6-3 victory over Geneseo on Saturday.
Cazares helped Fredonia to a four-point weekend with victories over Geneseo and Brockport. He made 45 saves over the weekend and the Blue Devils successfully fought off 24-of-25 powerplays.
Bradley did his part in the Blue Devils weekend as well. He scored the game-tying goal against Geneseo as Fredonia came from behind for a 5-2 victory on Friday night. He added two goals in the 5-3 victory over Brockport the following night.

November 1, 2004
Cortland senior forward Tim Earl (Troy, NY) has been selected by the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) as the player of the week for the week ending October 31, 2004.
Plattsburgh State junior goalie Craig Neilson (Markham, ONT) has been selected as the conference goalie of the week and Oswego freshman goalie Ryan Scott (Williamsville, NY) was tabbed the SUNYAC rookie of the week.
Earl led the Red Dragons to the Championship of the Lebanon Valley Invitational Tournament as he scored the game-winning goal in a 6-5 victory over Neumann in the opening game and then netted a hat trick in the 6-4 championship game victory over Brockport.
Neilson led Plattsburgh State to a season-opeing 3-1 victory over Potsdam State with 17 saves and holding the Bears to just one powerplay goal in nine attempts.
Scott earned his first collegiate start for Oswego in the second game of a two-game series with Elmira. He made 32 saves, including seven in overtime, and allowed just two goals as the Lakers skated to a 2-2 tie.

October 25, 2004
The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced its men's ice hockey players of the week for all games ending Oct. 24.
Brockport senior forward Mark Digby (Fulton, NY) has been selected as the player of the week. Fredonia sophomore goalie Rob Stanley (New York, NY/National Sports Academy) has been selected as the conference goalie of the week and Oswego freshman Tony DiNunzio (King City, Ontario) was tabbed the SUNYAC rookie of the week.
Digby led the Golden Eagles with two goals and two assists in a weekend sweep of Neumann College. He recorded an assist in the season-opening 6-2 victory and added two goals and an assist in the 3-2 come-from-behind victory the following night.
Stanley turned away 27 shots in a 6-2 victory over Buffalo State in the SUNYAC Challenge at Cortland over the weekend. He was instrumental in the Blue Devils penalty kill unit that stopped 15 of 17 power play opportunities.
DiNunzio opened his career for the Lakers with a goal in each game of a weekend sweep of Utica College. He scored a goal and added an assist in the 7-4 victory on Friday and added his second career goal in a 5-3 win on Saturday.
