Brockport junior forward Kate Bennett (Manlius, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius)
has been selected as the State University of New York Athletic
Conference (SUNYAC) Field Hockey Player of the Week for all games
ending November 2.Bennett led the Golden Eagles to a key 4-0 home
victory over Union on Saturday. Bennett scored two goals in the contest,
which gave the Golden Eagles a 7-6 record and propelled them into
the New York State tournament this week. Bennett leads the team with
six goals and 12 points.Brockport hosts Ithaca Wednesday in the first
round of the tournament.

Cortland junior forward Ashley Ostrander (Whitney Point, NY/Whitney
Point) has been selected as the State University of New York Athletic
Conference (SUNYAC) Field Hockey Player of the Week for all games
ending Oct. 26. Ostrander led the Red Dragons with two victories last
week. She registered a goal and an assist in a 5-0 win over Geneseo
and scored the eventual game-winning goal 32 seconds into the game
at Wilkes Thursday in a 5-0 win. With that goal, she became the sixth
player in school history to reach 100 points. She has 34 goals and
32 assists and is five assists shy of tying the school record. Cortland
is 14-0 and ranked fourth nationally in Division III.

Cortland sophomore goalkeeper Jessica Anderson (East Islip,
NY/East Islip) has been selected as the State University of New
York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Field Hockey Player of the Week
for all games ending Oct. 19. Anderson led the Red Dragons to two
victories this week allowing no goals in 105 minutes of action. She
made a career-high nine saves in a 2-0 win over 18th-ranked William
Smith and shutout Brockport for one half in a 4-0 victory. Anderson
has a 10-0 record in goal with three solo shutouts. Cortland is 12-0
and is ranked fifth nationally in Division III.

Oneonta junior goalkeeper Kelly Mohr (Danbury, CT/Danbury)
has been chosen as the State University of New York Athletic Conference
(SUNYAC) Women's Field Hockey Player of the Week for all games ending
October 12. Mohr backstopped the Red Dragons to a pair of 2-1 overtime
victories on the week. She stopped nine in a conference victory over
Geneseo that featured a sudden-victory shootout. She also played all
100 minutes in a 2-1 overtime victory over Nazareth that improved
Oneonta to 8-4-1 on the season.
October 6, 2003
Cortland freshman Molly Brown (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) has
been chosen as the State University of New York Athletic Conference
(SUNYAC) Women's Field Hockey Player of the Week for all games
ending October 5. Brown scored three goals and added one assist while
leading the Red Dragons to a 3-0 week. She recorded the game-winning
goal with 2:13 left in the game against 20th ranked Springfield and
registered two goals and an assist in a 7-2 victory over Hamilton.
Cortland is now 8-0 on the season and is ranked sixth in the nation.

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC)
has announced that Geneseo freshman forward Jeanine Tripepi (Baldwinsville/C.W.
Baker) has been named the SUNYAC Field Hockey Player of the Week
for games through September 28. Tripepi scored both goals in a 2-1
win over Nazareth, and also scored in a 4-2 loss to Ithaca. She leads
the Knights in scoring with four goals. Geneseo is currently 4-4 overall
and 1-0 in the SUNYAC Conference.

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC)
has announced that Brockport junior midfielder Na'Lisa Rowe (Marathon/Marathon)
has been named the SUNYAC field hockey Player of the Week for
games through September 21. Rowe scored goals in each of Brockport's
two games last week. She scored late in the first half as the Golden
Eagles defeated Ithaca, 3-2 Wednesday. It was Brockport's first win
over the Bombers since the 1978 season. Saturday, Rowe scored the
lone goal in a 1-0 victory over SUNYAC rival New Paltz. Brockport
needs one win to match last season's victory total of three, as the
Eagles stand 2-2.

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC)
has announced that freshman forward, Kelli Johnson (Elma/Iroquois
Central) has been named SUNYAC Field Hockey Player of the
Week for games through September 14. Johnson scored her first two
collegiate goals and assisted on another in a 4-0 victory at home
versus Rochester. She also scored both Cortland goals, including the
game-winner 4:46 into overtime in a 2-1 win at Oneonta. The Red Dragons
are 3-0 and are ranked seventh nationally in Division III.

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC)
has announced that Cortland senior forward Alana LaMorte (Miller
Place/Miller Place) has been named the SUNYAC Field Hockey Player
of the Week for games through September 7. LaMorte, a Miller Place
High School graduate, scored on three of her six shots in Cortland's
season-opening 5-0 win versus Nazareth. The Red Dragons, who opened
at home, were NCAA Division III Quarterfinalists in 2002.
