Assistant Men's & Women's Swim Coach/Aquatics Manager


SUNY Geneseo sponsors 20 varsity sports for an undergraduate population of 5,000 students. The historical village of Geneseo is located 30 miles south of Rochester, N.Y. located in the Finger Lakes region of Western New York. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will assist the head coach in all aspects of the men's and women's swimming program including recruiting, coaching, and also be responsible for the aquatics program. They will be expected to adhere to all NCAA Division III, SUNYAC, and SUNY Geneseo rules, policies, regulations and procedures. This is a part-time 10-month position with benefits.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, master's preferred with previous collegiate coaching and/or experience. Candidate should have a complete background in swimming and aquatic experience, demonstrated ability to work with student-athletes and athletics personnel and administration. Must have current CPR/AED, Lifeguarding and WSI certifications.

Salary: $20,000

Head Baseball Coach

10-month position. Responsible for all aspects of coaching a highly-competitive NCAA Division III baseball program, including game operations and strategy, practice planning, fundraising, and field maintenance, with particular importance placed on supervision, recruitment, retention, and providing leadership for quality student-athletes. Complete all necessary paperwork in a timely manner and attend required meetings and open houses. Hire, supervise, and provide direction for a staff of paid and/or volunteer assistant coaches. Perform all duties within athletic department, conference, and NCAA guidelines. Represent the baseball program and the athletic department in a professional, dignified, and positive manner at all times, and in turn expect this same manner of behavior from team members.

Secondary responsibilities - administrative duties to include: strength and conditioning, home event management and CHAMPS Life Skills. Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Physical Education; Masters Degree in Physical Education or Athletic Administration, Four years Division III Baseball coaching experience required, Athletic administrative experience required which includes CHAMPS Life Skills and home event management. Ability to become certified as Strength and Conditioning Coach with CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association within six months of employment start date. Sports Information Director

The State University of New York at Oswego, an NCAA Division III institution and a member of the SUNY Athletic Conference, is accepting applications for the position of Sports Information Director.

The successful candidate will manage the sports information needs for 24 varsity programs. Duties will include (but are not limited to) web page maintenance and improvement, game management functions, producing press releases, game programs, media guides and promotional activities, updating and maintaining statistics, operating in-game scoring statistical programs and post-game score reporting and media relations. The successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting and supervising a student staff as well as developing and maintaining team and individual records and photo archives. The successful candidate will represent the Athletic Department within the campus community as well as in local, regional and national news media outlets. The successful candidate will demonstrate good organizational and time management skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a group.

A Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree preferred. Previous experience in collegiate sports information or media relations is preferred. Applicants should have strong computer skills and competency in Stat Crew, Microsoft Word, Page Maker and Photoshop.

Assistant Athletic Trainer

SUNYIT, a Division III college located in central New York, is seeking a full-time assistant athletic trainer to begin immediately. This is a 10-month position which will run 2-3 months this spring and thereafter will run August through June. The successful candidate will effectively demonstrate and apply all aspects of athletic training including but not limited to the care, prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation and record keeping of athletic injuries. Candidates must be willing to work long hours and weekends. Job duties include: coverage of intercollegiate athletic teams (currently 11 varsity teams and growing); working closely with head athletic trainer, team physician and coaching staff; possible travel with intercollegiate teams;and other duties as assigned. HEAD COACH - MEN/WOMEN SWIMMING AND DIVING

The State University of New York at New Paltz invites applications for the position of HEAD MEN AND WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING COACH/ AQUATICS DIRECTOR. This is a 12-month position.

Primary Job Duties: Organize and administer all aspects of a successful NCAA Division III swimming program, recruitment and retention of academically qualified student-athletes, budget management, organization of practices, scheduling, travel/ home meet management, ensuring compliance with institutional and NCAA and SUNYAC rules and regulations, participation in student development initiatives of the department and hiring and supervising assistant coaches.

Aquatic Director responsibilities include aquatics management of natatorium with comprehensive aquatic recreational and fitness activities for the college community as well as work with Facilities Operations to monitor pool mechanical systems, water chemistry and general maintenance and repairs.

SUNY New Paltz has a long and proud tradition in NCAA Division III swimming and is a member of the State University of New York Athletic Conference. Candidates should have an understanding of NCAA Division III athletic philosophy in a diverse and comprehensive academic environment and skills to deal with a variety of community interests.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree required and master's degree preferred with 3 - 5 years collegiate and/or significant club coaching experience, aquatics management, WSI certification, Lifeguard Instructor certification, First Aid, CPR and AED. This is a full-time, FLSA exempt state position with a full benefits package. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
