Mike Bergman -
Plattsburgh
Sr., (Plattsburgh/Plattsburgh)

Bergman pitched in three games last week recording a 2-0 record with a 1.08 ERA. He pitched complete games in wins against Fredonia and St. Michael's allowing only nine hits with eight strikeouts in the two games. He also struck out two batters against Brockport to help the Cardinals clinch third place in the SUNYAC regular season standings.

Dave Waldron

Jr., (Saranac/Saranac)

Led Plattsburgh to an 8-1 record last week with his bat registering a .429 average for the week. For the nine games he collected four home runs, scored eight runs, had two triples a double while driving in nine runs.
He also threw a complete game in a win against Castleton State striking out seven.

Jeff Schwegler -
Brockport
Jr., Catcher/1b (Niagara Falls/North Tonawanda)

In a 4-0 week for the golden eagles, Schwegler went 10-13 with six runs
scored. In a doubleheader sweep of St. John Fisher he was 5-6 with a double
and three runs scored. In a sweep of SUNYIT he was 5-7 with two doubles, an
RBI and three runs scored.

Pitcher of the week
Dan Porcelli -
SUNYIT
Sr., Utica/Notre Dame

In his only start of the week he pitched a complete game in a 5-1 win
against city rival Utica college. He scattered nine hits, struck out five
and walked only one batter in the victory.

Player of the Week-
Andy Mead
– Cortland
Junior – Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker

Mead went 16-29 and reached base in 23 of 36 total plate appearances helping Cortland to an 8-0 record last week. In a 12-3 win over Rochester he went 4-4 with 2 RBI. Against SUNYIT he went 3-6 with a home run and a triple while driving in four runs. Mead also drove in five runs in a sweep of Plattsburgh. In eight games last week he hit .552 with a home run, a triple, three doubles, 12 RBIs, and also scored 11 runs.

Pitcher of the Week-
Jim Dougher
– Cortland
Sophomore – Liverpool, NY/Liverpool

Dougher went 2-0 for Cortland last week helping the Red Dragons to an 8-0 record on the week. Dougher pitched eight scoreless innings in an 8-0 win over Brockport, while striking out seven and only allowing four hits. In a 5-0 victory over Plattsburgh Dougher threw nine strong innings to pick up the complete game shutout, only allowing three hits and striking out five with no walks. In total he pitched 17 innings with 0 runs, 7 hits and 12 strikeouts.

Brent Tortarella - Oneonta
Sr., (Staatsburg/Roosevelt)

Tortarella led Oneonta to a 7-1 record last week including two SUNYAC doubleheader sweeps against SUNYIT and Plattsburgh. Tortarella went 17 for 30 with 9 runs, 7 RBI's and 25 total bases. His batting average was .567 and his slugging percentage was .833.

Mike Schellinger - Oneonta
Jr., (Syracuse/ Jamesville-DeWitt)

Schellinger went 2-0 for the Red Dragons last week helping the team to a 7-1 record overall. Schellinger pitched 8 scoreless innings against Plattsburgh and 7 scoreless innings against SUNYIT. In total he pitched 15 innings with 0 runs, 4 hits and 15 strikeouts.

John DeKams - New Paltz
Sophomore-Kings Park, NY/Kings Park

DeKams went 3-for-6 with four RBIs in a 1-1 week for the Hawks. He went
2-for-3 with four RBIs in a 10-4 win against Vassar. He also pitched the
final two innings of that game and struck out four of the eight batters he
faced

Pitcher of the week
Greg Funck - Oneonta
Junior-Roxbury, NY/Roxbury

Funck appeared in three games last week picking up a win and a save
while not allowing a run. In 2.1 innings of relief work he allowed just two
hits while striking out three. Oneonta State is now 3-0-1 on the season after sweeping St. Joseph¹s
last Thursday and picking up a win and a tie against Rochester on Friday.
